Can anyone point me in the right direction of ones that are free? Using Microsoft Office 2007 and would like to convert to Adobe format. Thanks!
If what FrancisFan posted doesn't work out for you, try using PrimoPDF. I used it a long time ago to convert a couple of Word documents into PDF's. It's also free. : http://www.primopdf.com/ BTW, thanks FrancisFan, I didn't even know that existed for Office. I need to check it out.
Primo PDF & Cute PDF Both of these programs work by printing the document to pdf. When you have your docx document open choose file print. If you have one of the above programs installed it will appear as a printer option. Change from your default printer to the pdf creator. It will then print to screen as a pdf. From here you can save it and now you have a PDF copy. Plus there are several web based converters Zamzar You Convert It PDF Online These sites all email you a link to the pdf file after you upload your docx document. If none of these work for you get a MAC.
I believe that it was built in the pre-RTM's of Office 2007, but was removed for licensing reasons at RTM. My personal favorite is PDF Creator, its like CutePDF, it basically allows you to print any document to PDF.
Do it free and online in a matter of seconds without downloading and installing any programs: http://www.doc2pdf.net/
I'm paranoid about uploading stuff to sites and having them convert it. I don't want copies of my stuff on their servers.
+1 to primopdf. Similar topic, but has anyone found a good program for converting pdf to doc? I read an article on all the reasons why it's hard to make that conversion, but at the end, my reaction was, "Yeah...so...where's the program that does the conversion!?" Have to believe it's out there...
I just Google'd : pdf to doc converter and it came up with a few apps. I haven't used any of them, so I don't know how well they work or if they're legit.
Yeah I tried a couple of them awhile back. Problem was, the conversions were always rather poor. The formatting would be really messed up beyond repair in the doc file.
When Microsoft released the Office 2007 Service Pack 2 awhile back, that built it in. You no longer have to download it from Microsoft or download another PDF creator. So make sure your version of Office is up-to-date, then all you have to do is click the button in the top left corner of Office, choose "Save As" and then select "PDF or XPS." Having said that, I also have the open source PDF Creator so that I can make PDFs from any program.
