    Rockets Signing Free Agent Soon!
(610 Rumor) 3 Team Trade For Amare
    Remember me?

I'm getting tired of trying to keep up with all the posts in all 3 threads. :D

Unless I'm missing something, Portland can't just send out Fernandez & take back Battier's salary. They're technically over the cap at the moment. Unless they've got a trade exception or have renounced Frye, LaFrentz, Shavlik Randolph & Ruffin, they can't make that trade. Correct me if I'm wrong.

However, there is a way to make it work. But, before I do that, let's do some more speculating/rumor mongoring/wags. Morey said he was trying to sign another FA in the next week or two & he indicated that he'd get a big man through a trade after that.

In my opinion, he's most likely going after a guard in free agency & (also, imo) the best remaining free agent guard is Ramon Sessions (RFA) (PG/SG). Milwaukee is already flirting with the Luxury Tax threshold & has been taking a good long look at Josh Childress to replace Richard Jefferson. If the Rocket's offer Ramon about $3.8 million of the $5.8 million MLE, which would leave about $2 million to offer Von Wafer, Milwaukee might have to pass on matching it.

The benefit of signing Ramon is that it would free us up to modify the speculated trade in the 3 team trade thread by sending AB to Portland. An additional modification to the trade that would have to be made would be Portland sending out more salary. This is where the "Remember me?" thread would come into play. If Portland is able to sign Milsap, then they would be able to part with Przybilla.

Thus, the 3 team trade could shape up like this:

I know it looks like we're giving up a lot in the trade, but with the signing of Ramon Sessions, that frees us up to let AB go. This trade should be appealing to all 3 teams. Our rebuilt lineup would look pretty good on paper & would've happened in one off season.

    C: Przybilla/Stoudemire/Dorsey/Yao(IL)
    PF: Stoudemire/Scola/Hayes/Dorsey
    SF: Ariza/White/Buddinger(IL?)
    SG: Richardson/Wafer/Barry/Taylor(IL?)
    PG: Sessions/Lowry/Llull (over seas?)

With that lineup we are going to suck realllly really bad.... We'll have another injury proned big man in Stoudamire... Sessions and Lowry have no outside shot... Ariza is unproven and we don't know if he'll fill the little things that Battier does... Richardson well... Richardson is Richardson.... Scola is the only guy I can count on and well that says it all right there...I sure as heck hope that is not what we are aiming for...

We will be giving up too much for the incoming players. Unless we are getting Nash, we better try to retain Brooks.

What a horrible trade idea. And if I'm not mistaken, Sessions is a restricted free agent and the Bucks have made it clear that keeping him is a priority.

this is a good trade and i posted something very similar to this trade up yesterday
    but how bout do instead:

    Hou: Trades-T-mac Landry and Cook
    Get:pyrbilla
    Amare
    J-rich

    Suns:Trade-Amare J-rich and barbosa
    Get:T-mac
    Landry
    Fernandez

    Blazers:Trade-Pyrbilla and Fernandez
    Get: Brain Cook
    Barbosa

    Houston potential starting lineup 09-10
    Pg-AB
    Sg-Battier
    Sf-Ariza
    Power Forward-Amare
    Center-Flopzilla

Sixth man of year could probably either be J-rich or Scola
    :D :D

I actually like the scenarios presented if the Rockets are really not going to rebuild.

With that said, I think we are re-building and thus not looking to trade Brooks/Landry for Vets.

i dont see that scenario making us true title contenders. if we are not going to contend anytime soon, i would rather rebuild and see what morey can do from scratch. go rockets!

From the past experience, no one can perdict Morey's next move. All the trade/sign rumor being released won't actually happen. :p

meh, if all 3 happen and rox got those players. It will be hard for me to continue to watch the rox. Those players are just a bad mix.

A flopzilla, a player that wants to be the man, and another player that wants his numbers every game. That would be Joel, Amare and JRich.

Sessions is untouchable. Bucks most likely let Villanueva go for him. If they were to keep Villanueva then I'd see this happening(but Vill>>Pistons).

We may be under estimating Brooks but Stoudemire is probably worth it.
And for the Stoudemire-Hatorade he isn't injury prone. His knee is fixed and has been fixed for 4 years Stat regained his All-Star status in 07-08 averaging 24.2 pts, 9.1 rebs, and 2.1 blks per game. After the Porter coaching change his game slowed down and it wasn't the run and gun anymore(which is similar to what we're aiming for, those type of players)... and thus leading to another freak accident on his eye. If he wears goggles a la The Dream I think he'll be alright. If Hakeem was to tutor Stat he'd be a beast. His size, strength, speed... everything set is identical to Hakeems.

So you're pretty much saying you only like the Rockets that are on the current roster.

I think that's the problem with some of us is that we overvalue a lot of our players. Yes they have heart, grit, and toughness but you cannot win a championship with that alone, you also need skills, talent, height, etc.

We need to realize that a lot of the players we have now, will probably not be on the roster in the next 2 or 3 years. Maybe even sooner. It's time, this time, it's time for change.

We need to be patient about this and accept the fact that rebuilding starts now, take the lottery for this season at least, and free cap space to sign a FA in 2010 and continue to work off of that. The Ming/McGrady-Carroll Dawson Era is over, Morey this is your team now.

    Fixed for ya.

There is no point of giving up a 24-year-old PG with a 35-year-old when you are in rebuilding mode.

    Let's stop talking about Rudy!

Has Morey ever indicated he likes the guy? For all we know Morey could think of him as an overrated, no D playing scrub.
