I think it's a pretty decent trade, although I've lost a lot of respect for Amare the past few years. The dude is all offense, all the time. And when he's taking a break from that, he's all about himself, all the time. Still, talent is talent, and this would be good for the Rockets, imo. [By the way, guys I have a newb question. How long or how many posts until I can search the forum, start new threads, etc.? Didn't know who to ask!]
All your answers could probably be found in the CF feedback section. But until you get upgraded from Rookie status to Member status you cant start new threads. And only contributing members can search the forum, etc. But if you keep posting and show you have quality and insightful posts, you'll get upgraded sooner rather than later.
That's cool, thanks for the reply! Yeah, I was going to look through the feedback forum, but since search wasn't available to be in that forum, didn't know how long it would take for me to find the answers! Do you know of the average time period for one to get upgraded from rookie to member status? (I really do not want to derail this thread so after this post, I'll just look through the feedback forum as suggested).
I like the trade and after use the MLE to sign Millsap. Millsap can replace Landry. Get it done Morey.
No to AMARE please........ Haven't we learned our lesson yet?!?!?! 2008-2009 Amare Stoudamire played 53 games.... He has had what surguries done to him?????? Do we seriously want another Yao and Tmac fiasco all over again.... This is a JOKE! I'd go for Bosh... I am not saying let's wait for him but let's trade for him to be a Rocket NOW!
It was an eye problem, he was an idiot and stopped wearing his goggles. As long as he wears them there shouldn't be a problem. The reason the Rockets should pass is Amare's a black hole that doesn't rebound or play defense.
Amare Stoudamire is the Potemkin village of NBA stars. He looks great but there's nothing really there. Gee, does that remind us of anyone? Seriously, how many times have we seen NBA teams self destruct because a GM tried to do an overnight rebuild. Let's hope that Les and Morey are more patient than that.
Just an eye problem? UHM no... It was "tweaked ankle" ..dislocated pinky... and so forth... He's also had how many surgeries? The guy is just injury prone... Wake up folks.. the kid is only 26 and already has had that many health issues. As he gets older it doesn't get better but worse! Isn't that one of our issues with the guy named TMAC. If we pick this guy up it will be years and years of more heart ache. Say No to Amare. A twenty six year old injury proned player is no different than a 29 year old injury proned player. At the end it'll still say on paper DNP due to injury. People complain how soft Yao is... well imagine a a 6'10 player that can't move because his legs are so dang shot... His surgeries were on weight bearing parts...Look at what sacramento went through with Webber and Divac constantly having problems with their legs... Adleman doesn't need that again and The Houston Rockets do not ever need that. Chris Bosh didn't make play offs in the East... well it is not like the Suns did much better with a stacked lineup and having arguably one of the best pg's in the league in Nash.
If we can trade for Amare, do it especially for TMac who should be rehabbing in Houston. I envy what the Boston Celtics did, 4 All-Stars in 1 team. Next year, there are a lot of free-agents, but I'll be surprised if a lot of them joined new teams. There is no guarantee that most of them want to join new teams. The good thing about the Rockets is that they are willing to spend money and a good example was the draft. Regardless, if we can get Amare, we should.
It would do this trade but I have a soft spot for guys who put the team first play hard for 48 mins and is the best defender in the league(battier)
Best defender in the league? Not sure about that. He's a very technical defender, and he is one of the most fundamentally sound perimeter defenders in the league, but I wouldn't call him the top lock down man in the NBA. Both B. Roy and Kobe ate his lunch in the playoffs, but those are two of the elite offensive guys in the game today.
Amare's surgeries have little effect on his game now. You say his legs are shot, that is far from the truth when he can still jump up and posterize a guy. His legs are far from shot, he's pretty much the same guy that came in, his surgery and rehab was a great success. And everytime someone gets that surgery now, they always say "Can he come back from it like Amare did?" people always say that. Keep having problems with his legs...It was a knee problem that has been dealt with. Amare is still explosive and his game has improved since then. Obviously the Suns know what they are doing, unlike our guys here where our star players have the same injury problems over 5 seasons.
The article states that Stoudemire is in their plans for the upcoming season. Not exactly a sweeping endorsement for long-term commitment, but it does at least throw a little cold water on the speculation of acquiring him (things can change, but....)
You do realize that Amare is only 26 right? In 5 years he will still be in his prime. I don't think Amare and Brooks can bring us a championship but I do think Amare, Brooks, Lowry, Scola, Ariza, Wafer and company can contend for one. When Yao comes back (end of this year or sometimes next year then I think that is just more amo in the gun),
Given Yaos history and the fact that Amare has been his equall or better I doubt that Amare would be seen as second fiddle on the offensive end of the floor with or with out Yao.
