No he didn't, it was more of a shoe horning. If yao and tracy had a slasher from the outset, the team wouldve been better. I've called for that kind for a long time, but had many talk about how the rockets need spot up spacers. That is the biggest misguided statement a poster could make. When u have slashers off kickouts, the defense collapses. When u have guys that can slash and put the ball down, the defender leave yao quicker and more under control which equals slower because of the fear of a blow by. You didn't see the spurs just put all spot up shooters around duncan.
I don't see how looking to trade Battier now is an admission of a mistake. When we got Battier, we had a different coach with a different coaching philosophy, totally different personnel (including 2 top-15 players), and very different expectations for the upcoming season. In addition to acquiring Battier that offseason, the Rockets also brought in Bonzi Wells and Kirk Snyder (two wings who could slash and play in transition).
If the rockets had drafted Brewer or Gay, I don't think the artest trade wouldve happened. I also don't think ariza wouldve been signed this year either. Its like a dominoe effect from that move. I am glad he's shifting the teams focus and ability to mesh with what adelman wants to do.
Old Man Rock, to simply put, you missed out on one very important factor. Your team has gotta be competitive in order to attract free agents. With only 15 MIL in cap space next summer, We could only land one max FA. That means he has to be convinced that he could win here in order to sign with us, as asuupose to if we have tons of cap space and we could lure two top players who have mutual respect for one another. This is why we are adding solid piece and also why we'll be competing for a playoff spot next season. And I'm not even talking about how tanking would damage sales and revenues.
Morey is not doing anything. His goal this summer is to sign Ariza, our rookies and yea, thats it. Our starting center is either Dorsey or Chuck Wagon
I am glad you are confused. If you could figure out Morey, other GMs could too. That wouldn't be good, would it?
Couldn't have said it any better, we are becoming a younger team, which should bring excitement to us fans. Gaining young talent doesn't always hurt the team, so have patience, and you will see good results.
well, i dont think so,it makes nonsense.if we lose carl,t-mac,battier to exchange amare and rcds,it is not moving forword.on the contrary,it will make houston hard to get into the playoffs, dont forget ,amare once made Knee surgery。
I know you were kind of joking, but I actually wouldn't doubt that he does something like that. He probably put ariza in for artest and simulated the season 1000 times or something and looked to see if we did better. Probably put gortat at center instead of scola and did the same thing. Maybe not with NBA Live though.
Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Rudy Gay University of Connecticut 2 Steve Novak Marquette University We drafted Gay, in 2006.
Now a days I see McGrady having a better shot than Yao to fully revitalize there careers.. So I wouldn´t trade McGrady unless the deal is Granger type. I would trade for Amare though.... I´d love this lineup.. Brooks/Lowry Tmac/Von Ariza/Budinger Scola/Hayes Amare/?
Now this is signature worthy... I don't know what More's master plan is, or if he even has one, I just know that after reading the OP, I almost sank into another depression. Then after reading some of the other posts, I leveled off. Fickle, I know. I believe by the time the season starts that we will be fine and that we will be a contender. I believe T-Mac will come back and he will be fine, maybe not the T-Mac of old but he will be fine. Now when he comes back, I don't know. I also believe our non-star, supporting, role players are better than people make them out to be and could eek out more than 20 wins by themselves. And in the end, I trust Morey and the Rockets organization which brings up another question for me. People always act like Morey is a genius (which I'm sure he is) that is sovereign and can act on things with/without Les' and the organizations support. Is this so? I don't know. To quote an overused phrase, "In Morey We Trust". That's really all we have at this point.
