I didn't say it had to be Przybilla for Battier straight up. Someone else could very well be involved, but again, it's not going to be Fernandez. As I said....$20 to the tip jar if it is.
Have you looked at the rest of that draft? Not ideally what you want production wise out of the 9th pick, but that draft was awful.
We better get Fernandez out of this too. If it's pryz + rudy for Battier/Cook I will be happy. If it's pryz for Battier then ****!
-Don't mind Przybilla at all... he's a good defender and one of the better rebounders out there. - I don't think Battier's needs to be involved for salary purposes. Cook+Barry make $5.5 million, so these two plus pretty much any other player would make the salary match. - But certainly, Portland may ask for Battier and the Rockets can include him in a trade. - Like others, I'd think the Rockets want more than Przybilla back if Battier is involved.
Battier is a guy that I'd hate to lose, but also hate to hang on to. He just doesn't do enough on the court for a team that has the problems we have, but at the same time what he DOES bring to the team is so valuable. I love that guy.
Like I said in my last post, it would seem as if either Batum, Bayless or Fernandez would have to be included. The Rockets actually drafted Batum, and moved him to route Donte Greene to Sac in the Artest deal. Bayless seemed less than spectacular during his rookie season. Fernandez probably has the higher stock. I just dont know if Battier is enough to coop him.
You make a compelling case for why this makes sense... It would definitely warrant someone posting that pic of Morey in the Magician's outfit pulling a rabbit out of his hat.
I know Matt. Matt knows me. (Matt doesn't know me as Doc Rocket--and that makes me feel like Batman in a good way...feels sexy...and very Tom Cruise-ish) But if Matt has heard something, it's almost WITHOUT a DOUBT a good source... ...but that source may have just posed his 'info' as a hypothetical scenario. If some investigative work was done after that, it may be very legit! Hey Matt!
Hollinger suggested that if Utah assumes they're going to lose Millsap, their cap situation would be better off if they signed and traded Millsap to Portland before he signs an offer sheet (if they include Harpring). They could also sign and trade Millsap to Portland after he signs an offer sheet (but then it would have to be for what the offer sheet says) Either way, could it be a sign-and-trade 3 way deal? I'm not sure about the potential scenarios, but Millsap and Battier to Portland, Pryz and Rudy here? Utah getting Outlaw and the rights to Koponen and Freeland and maybe a throw in from us? Just a possibility..
Pryzbilla is a GOOD center! That's a fact! Those flops piss us off but those are flops we'll love in Toyota Center. No one knows me - I'm a proctologist!
