He played in only two games against the Lakers in the playoffs... and went 3-10...

This gives me the impression that management would rather try to get as much talent as they can within their limited means, and then hope to try and trade McGrady if possible. DM wants to sign a big FA,but he knows that's going to be hard to do,unless Yao were to retire or opt out of his player option.
This will drop our chances of getting a higher pick in the draft,if we overachieve.

i dont think any of those SGs/PGs are worth the MLE. we're probably going to split the MLE on two young SGs like Carney/Ronald Murray.

We don't need to spend the MLE on no one. Lets just sign our 2nd rounders and maybe sign Von, and that's it. No reason to spend the MLE for the sake of spending it.

I love that idea, Williams has improved just abot every year he's been in the league and he's still very young and VERY athletic

from the looks of this highlight vid, he seems to be a good scorer, but how is his court vision and passing skills? what about his D?

I wouldn't mind that at all. Surprised I haven't seen him mentioned more.

OK all of you have convinced me..Marvin Williams sounds like a winner to me!

I would love the Rox to trade for Okafor and sign Williams creating this lineup:

    Brooks/Lowry
    Ariza/Taylor/TMAc/White
    Williams/Budinger/Barry
    Scola/LAndry
    Okafor/Hayes/Dorsey

    Thoughts?

I like Marvin Williams. He plays both ends of the court, he's improved his game every year and he's got some mismatch potential. But I don't see how the Hawks wouldn't just match an MLE offer. Especially now that they signed Bibby to very reasonable contract.

Just went through the list of NBA' shooting guards free agents. Doesn't appear like there's too many young gems.

What's your take on Rashad McCants or Maurice Ager? I've heard they're names before but I wanted to know more.

    McCants averaged 15 points last season. 26 mpg. 45% fg. 40% 3pt. 75% FT. 3 Reb. 2 Ast. 2 TO.

All with a very bad team tho. Maybe with more minutes his production go up. Better than anyone we have now or could get in a trade. But would he command the entire MLE?

Marvin Williams would really give us a group of young exciting players to watch.
    Brooks/Lowry
    Ariza/Taylor
    Williams/Battier/Budinger
    Scola/Landry
    ?/Dorsey

I don't think so. Will he play within a team concept or defend is the big question? I would pass up on him despite his scoring ability.
