adelman knows how to get this guy playing right. his playing style would fit a yao-less rockets team perfectly. he may not fit in regard to the other factors mentioned but i think brad miller would be an excellent fit on this team. but i also love the thought of ben wallace as an enforcer next to yao (eventually).
I think the hawks would be interested in a Battier for Marvin swap... then maybe we can sign a cheap C Brooks/Lowry Ariza/Taylor/Barry? Williams/White/Budinger Scola/Landry/Hayes free agent center/Dorsey
With the budget shriveled by economic crisis and a mean boss owning the team, I don't think Morey can sign any big name, some minimum levels are expected though.
RealGM says Rodney Carney being pursued by 10 teams, didn't mention any. Just throwing his name out there.
If Morey's trading for a big, I think it's likely not a one-year rental but a young guy with upside, like a Gortat. I can then see Morey targeting a free agent SG/SF with the mid-level, but what (young) free agent wing is left out there that the Rockets would want?
Marvin Williams <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FC5aLzd2HkE&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FC5aLzd2HkE&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Didn't say I liked him, just that 10 teams outta 30 is a lot and he could be had for cheap since he's proved nothing.
Is it just me or is that Lamar Odom? That's what his game right now reminds me of. He can play 3 positions, handle, shoot, and athletic... Poor man's Odom and he's 22 so he could end up being better...
Is one C going to be enough? I don't know how we make room for two big men, but we're still going to be stuck with Scola/Hayes playing some minutes at the 5. Is Dorsey going to be ready to contribute...more than a FA backup Center?
I think it would do them some good, because that team has no Defensive desire whatsoever. Josh Smith is a great shot blocker, but he only turns it on when he feels like it. What ATL needs is a guy like Shane. A guy who provides leadership and a defensive mindset. However, as long as they have Mike Woodson in charge, that team will go nowhere. Trading Acie Law will end up being a mistake (back me up, ballerforlife!) and that was completely Woodson's decision. So, I dont see them wanting a guy like Battier for Williams. They still have some egg on their face for taking Marvin over CP3 & Deron Williams and, like Mark Cuban with the J-Kidd trade, want to make it look like they made the right choice. So, do I think they would? No. Do I think they should? Absolutely. I think if they had a coach like JVG, that team would be worlds better. Just my opinion.
maybe dalembert ist'n 76ers general manager Ed Stefanski contacted the Rockets about center Samuel Dalembert, but the team declined. According to NBA sources, Stefanski wasn't inquiring about Tracy McGrady, but only to see if Houston was interested in Dalembert. The center has two years and $23.6 million left on his contract. The Sixers have been trying to trade Dalembert -- per his request -- since before last season's trading deadline.
