MIP is the dumbest award ever, they dont actually base it on who improved the most, atleast not all the time, rather by whos per game averages got boosted.

Ariza could very easily post higher per game averages but be a less effective player because of it.

All the more reason for him to work harder and not make himself look bad. He's young, talented, he can improve if he wants to. So he won't have a supporting cast like the Lakers have, this will help him grow and get better.

I'm trying to be positive here...

I'd say its very possible with the minutes he's sure to get this coming season. I'm very excited to see what Ariza can do in a feature role. We still need scorers, but Ariza has a chance to be an extremely well-rounded basketball player.

Why not. There's a lot of room of improvement :p But I actually like Aaron Brooks' chance to be the most improved player as a starter from the outset and with momentum from the playoffs. :)

I think there will be 2 possible results at the end of next season:

    (1) Ariza proves he's nothing more than a role player that can only play off the ball.

    (2) Ariza proves he can be a facilitator and is in the running for Most Improved Player, displaying a showcase of unknown abilities. (something like what Turkoglu became when he won the award)

I've got my fingers crossed for #2. I don't think it's unreasonable to think it can happen, either.

I love this assumption he has no ability to create his own shot just because he hadn't before. Like he has been in a situation once his whole career where he was needed/expected/in a position to be that guy.

My point is, you don't know **** about a player's abilities until they get substantial minutes and an opportunity to do those things. It may not be in him, but stop acting like it's a cemented fact.

Homerism? Ariza is a role player, could be a very good one, but still a role player.
