Doesn't any website with user-created content, like YouTube or Facebook, require people to "register?"
Yes, most of them do. One thing I have learned using the internet over the years, is that people like to complain about stuff they have never paid a dime for.
I am already registered for hulu so that it saves my queue. That way I finish watching something and it automatically starts the next show without me having to fiddle with it.
So many suspicious people. I actually do NOT work for Hulu, but I do like it a lot, especially when I miss my weekly shows. The entertainment industry is still hit pretty hard from this recession (NPR did a piece on paramount a week or two ago), and while theatrical releases have been hits and misses, cable has been a steady revenue stream from ads (Hulu included b/c of its episodic content). And so if it gets to a point where Hulu loses enough ad revenue where it is not worth being hosted, I would be greatly disappointed.
Actually I haven't registered for the site. A lot of people, myself included don't like to reveal information online. And I avoid registering for any site as much as possible.
Hulu.com isn't actually a user generated-content site. It's the reason why you can get high quality video =) ...and also why there are still advertisements =(
I'm definitely not trying to start a similar venture either. No way you can win that battle against the major studios. I can't find an old thread that answers my question. Would you happen to know of one?
