Couple of interesting pieces of news. Curious to see what "other ways" there are... only thing I can think of is the disabled player exception, but I don't think you can get it quickly, so who knows.

Feigan also says sources around Yao deny a decision has been made, but he thinks this is going toward the surgery route.

Awesome news! Great to hear that Morey is busting his butt to make us better. He's been backed into a corner with all this bad luck, but he's still fighting for us.

I think other than the sign and trade, the big news out of this, is that our Center will come through a trade, with the player having one year on his contract. Any idea of the Centers out there, that have one year left on their deals?

Imagine if we worked a SnT Ariza+filler for Artest, keeping the MLE and then also getting the disabled player exception if that pans out  .

Awesome we can have Ariza and the MLE,.... and a note to LBJ F**K OFF, no one wants to go to cleveland b/c they know your leaving after 09/10 , you're, your own worst enemy when it comes to signing free agents....
God I hate Lebron!!!!!!!!!! (Unless he sign with the rockets next year :D :D )

Yeah, but in the article, it says we probably wont add any players to the payroll through free agency, even if this situation does happen. Trade, seems to be a higher priority for us.

That is some potentially good news! Finally!

Man, if they can work that out and we can have the MLE...I can breathe again.

    :D

    Everyone pray for Daryl Morey.

    Thanks for the post.

Who's still left in FA that's worth it? I think we're barely over the tax right now. I can't see Les paying another 12 mil(full MLE x2) for just role player.

Well I think the main reason we're trying to save our MLE is so that we can offer multi-year contracts to our rookies like we've done in the past.

Interesting! However, when we sign Ariza, we're going to be at the LT. Keeping the MLE would be nice but using it would result in the LT. Not to mention that we have 15 players under contract if you count Ariza and the rookies.
