Looking back at that draft, it seems most of the players drafted in the top 10 have missed a ton of time. There were also a ton of busts in the lottery that year. Maybe there is a curse of the 2002 nba draft.
Whoa, maybe they ain't gotten any luck on 'em. Can't believe that they're cursed and maybe it's just contagious and infectious?Perhaps it would be the best explanation for why Rockets suffer so many injuries during the past few years.
A lot of GM's got Euro-fever that year which caused things like Tshikitsvili going #3 and Bostjan Nachbar and Jiri Welsch going ahead of Tayshaun Prince. I still don't get how Boozer lasted till the second round. Let's go with a re-draft, I'm going to say: 1. Stoudemire 2. Yao 3. Boozer 4. Caron Butler 5. Tayshaun Prince 6. Nene 7. Scola 8. Salmons 9-10 some mix of Haslem (UFA), Gooden, Dunleavy (who the rockets apparenly loved...*shudder*), Krstic etc.
What were's Jay Williams??????this is a tragedy, how can you reject jay out of the top two, he's once in life time pont guard. ....in all seriousness he could have been really good
While Chicago's triangle offense didn't suit his style of play (lots of moving without the ball, through picks, etc., which was hard for someone his size and skill set), he was a bust before the accident. A poor man's Steve Francis--at best. He was completely outplayed by Jamal Crawford, and he feuded with his teammate and coach.
