Duncan Davis Jefferson Manu Parker I think we can pencil the spurs in for the championship. The lakers are strong with kobe gasol odom bynum artest But I don't believe in Bynum, and you can never really be sure with odom. He kind of didn't do that well in the rockets series. I think in the lakers situation a guy like Ariza who isn't a goto player is better than Artest who needs the ball a bunch. Also Parker will avg 30+ against the lakers point guards.
I still think Davis is overpaid. He's a PF who does not rebound, and scores more in terms of volumes than efficiency. He is very young, but I would tend to stay away from guys like this if I were a GM.
Landry played half the minutes Big Baby did, and guess what, scored half as much. This half theme seems to work quite well with these too.
Cavs got exposed last year. A lot of the reasons they won were because of hype and refs calling everything their way. Not only that, most of the teams got the injury bug, even the Celts and Lakers. Do you honestly think the Cavs last year would make it to the ECF if the Celts were healthy? Adding Shaq helps them but not top 3, not with Boston getting KG and Sheed and maybe Hill, Spurs getting RJ and healthy Duncan and Manu, and Lakers. LBJ is good, but he's not THAT good...yet
Man, the Spurs have gone into full anti-Spurs mode this summer with these high priced acquisitions. I don't think Big Baby is worth even half the MLE, but this was absolutely the right move to make. We Rockets fans now fully appreciate how rare true franchise players are. If you are fortunate enough to have been blessed with one as the Spurs are with Duncan, you need to squeeze out every last title you can before he rides off into retirement.
Why did he only play half the minutes? I mean we were missing Yao. Is rick a bad coach? The per minute stats are tricky because you have to think why does that person get half the time.
Spurs dont seem to stop. Theyre reportedly in the lead for McDyess. Via everyone's favorite source, Twitter YahooSportsNBA: Spurs leader for McDyess: http://bit.ly/I2g2w http://twitter.com/YahooSportsNBA
well... maybe... just maybe... that has something to do with scola? who's the other legitimate option big baby beat to get the minutes?
You have to figure out where those shots are coming from. All his shots came from Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Landry's shots came from Brooks, Artest and Wafer. These guards will force up a shot instead of passing to an open Landry. That's exactly what they did throughout the playoffs.
Thanks for the common sense. I can't believe some folks think the Spurs will pay the full MLE for a player like Davis. They will have to wait until they see smaller offer from the Spurs or until free agency is over.
For other teams maybe but not the Spurs. I am not sure that I would put Wallace/McDyess ,who are getting the full MLE, in the same class as big baby.
