Why not just go make a new thread for ever single player in the league that we can trade T-mac for

Regardless of whether you think Rondo is better than TMac, we can get more. Rondo is not the best shooter, and IMO, he's a bit of a headcase. Throw is Ray Allen or a solid big man and maybe we can talk. TMac may come back and light it up. Either way, his expiring contract holds a lot of value for anyone looking to cash in on the FA bonanza after next season.

Ok, so I'm missing the part about why Boston would like this deal? Because they get ol' McGrady, the veteran? What would happen to their PG situation?

    Doesn't seem very thought-out.

Lets see. A young promising point guard for a injured star. Nope, do not see it happening. It creates so much problems for the Celtics. They lose their only reliable pg and probably more since salaries do not match. They open space for a player they do not know if He will be back to his former playing self. What is it in for the Celtics?

NEWSFLASH: Boston isn't just signing veterans for the hell of it. They're trying to assemble a team to win another championship.

Now you tell me why they'd trade their starting point guard for TMAC, a player who may not even play the first half of the season and would be on the bench behind Allen and Pierce when he does come back. Trading one of the better PG's in the league for a bench wing player? Come on, now.

And this doesn't even factor in that TMAC makes about $20 million more than Rondo which means Boston would have to send us one of their big 3 to make up the salary difference.

People, please think about these things and use a little common sense before posting trade threads. Look at the salaries and look at it from the other teams perspective.

Even in your 2nd trade proposal, Boston is downgrading their PG and acquiring a bench player. There's no reason for them to do that. Think McFly, think.

Ainge would NEVER agree to it. To compare, Ainge asked for Rip, Tayshaun and Stuckey for Rondo and Ray Allen a few weeks ago...which wasn't an awful deal.

Rocketboi, I don't know why this thread isn't locked. You throw out a trade proposal that is impossible in your OP. No thought involved whatsoever. There are enough threads getting bumped off the front page already, without this crap adding to the problem.

    Get a clue!

Man, people are being a little hard on the OP. The trade may have been a little poorly thought out, but there is some basis in reality. I heard the Celtics were fed up with Rondo because he's "uncoachable" and would like to unload him. Surely they'd want another point guard in return as part of any deal. And they are in win-now mode and loaded with stars, so T-Mac doesn't make a lot of sense for them. Even if they did want his contract for some reason, the deal would have to include other players (Allen, for one) for the salaries to match. And the Rockets likely would have to include a point guard. So now the trade differs widely from the original idea. Rondo as a Rocket? He's pretty talented. They could do a lot worse. But the "uncoachable" tag is reason for worry.

    No Hell NO!!1

I hate Rondo, he is a dirty selfish player and even his team find it hard to play with him.

Come on guys, why should the Celtics trade their only good PG and future all-star for t-mac, a player that they don´t need at all and who will likely be injured again soon. Some of the people here really seem outta this world, thinkin teams like Detroit would trade their core material (rip, tayshaun) for t-mac.
This might would´ve worked 5 years ago, but now it´s just impossible.

You're the type of guy in here that makes people laugh at the posters on this site.

First off the Rockets would be extremely lucky to be able to dump Tmac's contract on anyone at this point since no one wants the guy. And secondly Rondo is a rising star at the point guard position and causes a lot of mis matches for other guards with his long length.

This is a great idea by the OP, unfortunately I'm sure the Celtics would laugh at that deal.

This needs to be locked. I wonder how quick a thread has been locked. How dumb is this idea I mean seriously. Tmac for Rondo. You should be banned. You fail. Fail Fail Fail. David Stern would even laugh at you.

I wonder if Math was your weakest subject because you must obviously not know that the Money is waaayyyyyyyy off. The last time I checked 23 mil >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than 2 mil or whatever the amount of money Rondo makes.
