This is a long term move, which could pay huge dividends. Now, Utah isn't stupid, or at least we don't think, but what would be their asking price for the first round unprotected pick from the knicks? Morey should do whatever is necessary to acquire that pick since we all know the Knicks will have a terrible record. Here's the top prospects for next year:

John Wall, PG 18 Years old, 6 ft 3 Kentucky

    Derrick Favors PF/C 17 years old 6 ft 9 215lbs

    Willie Warren SG Oklahoma Sophmore

    Greg Monroe C Georgetown 240

The Rockets just need to hold onto their own pick. My greatest fear is that Morey trades it away in the hopes of speeding up the rebuild.

Knicks still got their pick if Jazz makes it to the playoffs according to the deal.

Without Rox contending, its unlikely Jazz would end up in lottery.

I think your wrong. I'm sure the pick is unprotected. It's been protected the past couple of years and next year the Jazz get it no matter what.

I wouldn't risk it. What happens if the Knicks are decent and the pick isn't a top 10 pick, would it be worth it?

    I don't like uncertainty.

Why go after the Jazz/Knicks specifically? How is this pick different from any other first round lottery teams? I mean why not make a thread about going after a first round team from certain lottery-bound teams, instead of a specific team. I highly doubt the Jazz will be willing to trade that pick, and if anything their asking price will be high.

BimaThug makes a damn good case for why this would be plausible from the Jazz' perspective in the other thread.

Exactly its stupid to "do whatever it takes" to get a pick without knowing where it could be.

That pick is Utah's second most expensive asset. No way they will trade.

Why NY? The draft picks for the east have been pretty low in the draft lately. The draft picks for the west are much higher, because they west lotto teams have to thrown down with Lakers, Spurs, Hornets, Nuggets, TrailBlazers, Jazz, and Mavericks.

Golden State and Memphis have worst records than NY.
This coming season, the Rockets will have a worst record than NY,

You're probably right. And if they ever did trade it. You would have to take AK47 and he crazy contract.

favors looks like he excelled b/c of his size in high school. john wall looks to be the real deal.

however, i was mostly impressed with Greg Monroe and his exceptional, EXCEPTIONAL footwork & nose for the ball. he's the 2nd-best player in the draft, IMO.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not into sucking peoples knee caps, but Bima makes a ton of sense with this issue.

Exactly right, I think its worth the risk of sending Landry in exchange for AK47 and their unprotected Knick pick. This way we have two chances of landing a top two pick!

Bingo! A vet or two is of little use to us now. A rebuilding team needs as many good picks as it can get,and this draft promises to better than the 2009 draft. DM should go the OKC way.

So, I guess none of you guys think the knicks are going to make the playoffs. I think they're a borderline playoff team if they keep Lee.

Utah isn't much of an FA destination so they need to keep draft picks -also the Knicks pick wasn't that high this year, no reason to believe it will magically win the lottery next year.
