With such responsible journalism, I can't understand how they could hate us (America) over there.

Sad. This is how hatred is carried on through generations by indoctrination of innocent children.

It goes in line with what I've been thinking all along....many Arabs lack proper education or any education at all. At the same time, they are flooded with negative propaganda against Israel and America. They are not given facts...they are told lies. They are told things to stir their insides to act on behalf of their religion. The main cause of this comes from a lack of a real, proper education. I'm not talking about mandrassas which are typically free for anyone who signs on to learn how to hate supposed enemies of their religion, how to recite Koran verses over and over, and embark on a path which leads them to involvement with a militant/terrorist group. The other choice is to pay for an education which not many can afford. They would rather send their kids to mandrassas than to have their kid have little to no education at all. Arab governments allow this to go on so they are at fault. This happens in Pakistan no doubt and I'm sure it happens in many other Arab countries. Who funds these mandrasses? Who do you think? Ever listened to a mandrassa teacher....that's an eye-opener. It's equivalent to having a KKK leader teach our children about education over here...except he would be teaching us how to hate minorities as well.

If anyone has ever listened to an extreme or militant Muslim speak about Allah's will, then it is always negative and about destroying their enemies. There is no other course. Just the other day...a Pakistani militant said their goal was to "...kill 6 million Americans for the 6 million Muslims Americans have murdered". That is the biggest crock of sh*t I have ever heard in my life but this guy genuinely believes we have done this. These extremist Muslims have money...which constitutes a source of bribery in my opinion. It's incentive for recruitment...join your fellow Muslims in a war against non-believers. We will also support you by giving you the money to do so. Follow us...join us....we will support your family. Ask Saddam who has payed out $5 million to suicide bomber's families....not to mention Iran...not to mention Al Qaeda.

Just recently....some of our Congressmen have been talking about how a lot of terrorists are Saudi Nationals. They say the Saudi government isn't doing nearly enough or even anything to combat the propaganda teachings in their own country. They say we should take a harder stance with the Saudi government on these issues or that country will continue to breed terrorists.

I recall them asking Taliban Muslims before the war why they hated Israel and America. No two Taliban Muslims had the same answer. Most of them were scratching their heads and had no answer. When they did give an answer, it was purely propaganda that had been passed on to them with little merit based on facts.

Yes, journalists are to blame. They claim CNN is biased...what about themselves? I believe most of those who are properly educated not only about Islam but about the world in general are the conservative and moderate practicers of Islam. But, we also know there are many well-educated terrorists as well so that doesn't always hold true. The more educated ones are the ones more likely to have an educated opinion without simply relying on biased journalism or propaganda spread by word of mouth or TV.

Militant Muslims would make up or say whatever they felt was necessary to keep their evil, terroristic ways alive. I believe many are brain-washed. Osama thinks he's a damn prophet who can preach orders....like he is Muhammad. I would have to equate it to crazy religious groups who brainwash their people here in the US....like those shaved head people who caught the space ship to Heaven or whatever. Or the Jim Jones followers...or David Koresh....

Actually, there are STILL conversations going on about blacks in America. I remember watching a documentary on hate groups a couple years back and they had little kids parroting this kind of propoganda but just in the form of Christianity used to define white supremecy.

    Sad.

Jeff, this article made me think of Christian hate groups too, but there is a major difference here. The vast majority of our culture rebukes hate groups, while 50% of the Muslim culture agrees with them.

That's a hell of a generalization. Do you know how many Muslims there are in the world?

I think there are around 1.4 billion Muslims in the world, and I don't think I am wrong about their feelings towards the Jews. Disinformation is flowing freely in the Arab countries about Israel and America (Goebbles would be proud:( )

5 freakin percent of all Muslims live in the Middle East so that is one hell of a guesstimate.

Many many Muslims live in India, China, Indonesia, Russia, Europe, etc. These Muslims (majority of them at least) do not hate Jews.

Of course we are going to sympathize with our fellow Muslims in Palestine, but we do not hate Jews!

I love Americans because I am an American.
I love Inidans because I am from India.
I love Muslims because I am a Muslim.
I love Jews because they are my fellow human beings.

These little kids being educated in the Middle East is what is totally wrong with the whole situation. Education is the key to everything. If you are taught from an early age how Jews are our enemies, what else are you going to think? Its not like they have easy access to unbiased information even when they are adults.

Unless you have the stats to back that up, that is a significant reach. Like Rockets03 said, only 5 percent of Muslims live in the Middle East. Hell, I read that a huge chunk of them live in the Western world - Europe, Canada and the US, primarily. There are even fairly large numbers of Muslims in South America.

Many of them practice Islam religiously, not politically. All we need do is look no further than Houston's most beloved athlete, Hakeem Olajuwon. He's a better example of modern Islam than those in the Middle East.

This is more about lack of education and poverty than religion. Religion just becomes the vehicle by which the hatred is justified. That doesn't mean it represents legitimate Islam or the majority of Muslims.

This needs to be repeated over and over and over to every person who thinks Islam is the root cause of the problem.

That article is most likely total BS.. i dont think anywhere in the Quran does it say that about jews.. so before you start posting things that totally discriminate people towards a particular race/religion do your research...

Just because it doesn't say that in the Quran doesn't mean that people won't teach that.

And just because you do not like the posting does not mean that you can jump to the conclusion that the poster did not do his research...according to http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/001/355bqppp.asp , the translation was made by http://www.memri.org/index.html . It was not hard to find.

I would like to add that even if this is an accurate translation, it is meaningless when taken out of context. We laugh when some one in another country explains the average American view using quotes from the Jerry Springer show. I have no idea about the context of this quote.

That said, there certainly are some disturbing translations on the Memri site.

I don't think anyone here is tryin to say that Islam is the problem. Most ppl who have checked into it know that Islam is a peace-loving religion when taken as it was intended. The problem is the terrorists and others who use Islam and pervert it's teachings as an excuse to hate the ppl they percieve as their enemies.
The point already made in this thread would equate it with the way KKK-style groups attempt to use Christianity in the same way.
Basically both groups pervert a religion's teachings to brainwash the young against ppl or groups of ppl they hate.

The research is easy(the internet is a wonderful thing), why don't you try some yourself.
