what keb 'mo CD would you recommend?? do you own any Big Voice Jack cd's?? anything you'd recommend there?
My favorite Dave story was when he was a kid in South Africa, and he and one of his black friends saw a store with a sign on it that said "Blacks may not step foot in this establishment" (or something like that), so he carried his friend in, and when the owner said he couldn't be in there, Dave said the sign merely said he couldn't step foot in there. That's a story I heard years ago, you get the gist of it even if that's not exactly how it was told.
As far as Big Voice Jack is concerned, it appears that there's only one CD available, although he's recorded much more. This is the CD (Gallo Records), and you can buy it at http://www.towerrecords.com, http://www.cdnow.com, and http://www.amazon.com. It'll be backordered, but I bet it'll come. I'm gonna order one. For Keb 'Mo -- IMO his best CD is "Just Like You". Download a few songs somewhere and see if you like it -- some great songs are "Just Like You", "More than one way home", "Damgerous Mood" or "Perpetual Blues Machine". The whole thing is great though. Great davespeak RM95 -- I hadn't heard that one before
Vengeance, thanks for the cds...you're awesome. I may have to send you some blank ones for future use. I remember you (or my friends that were at the concert) telling me about funny Davespeak the night before the one we went to: "Leroi Moore on the saxophone. Leroi Moore, fighting crime since 1942." Or something like that.
No problem RM95 -- Glad you are enjoying them!! It's the least I could do after you getting those BAD ASS tickets (I'm still blown away). Oh, I forgot to mention -- just after the third song I think, you can hear someone in the crowd go "Spotlight" -- that's you I think! And after the sixth song, at around 7:17 there's another one -- I think that was me! MadMax -- got your CDs today -- burned them and they're in tomorrow's mail. I got that Live In Chicago video today -- I've already got it saved on my computer(s) and I dropped the copy I was sent in the mailer and added a stamp (just to make sure!). Enjoy! It's a pretty neat video -- not as good as LS (obviously), but still very cool! It's in VCD form, but you can play them on a computer as well. Anyone else wants a copy of it (RM95? anyone else?), let me know.
Yeah...I'm gonna send you some blank cds and stuff. Let me know what I need to send you for this one. As much as I loved the second nights seats, I wish it had been for the first night's set list...what a show. That Big Eyed Fish/Bartender was amazing.
