+1 in my opinion, without CP3 ,chandler is a ZERO. on the other side,Hornet is a division rival of Rox so the deal is impossible .......
Pay attention. The coaches told Dorsey to be a track star. Aaron Brooks said he has more penetrating opportunities when Yao is out. We signed Ariza. We want to run for the impaired. Tyson Chandler can run he is a air defender which we don't have. It would be a good trade and he needs a change he has averaged eleven plus boards before so don't get it twisted.
Agreed. Trading for Chandler would severely hurt our chances of signing a max player in FY10, but he's probably the 2nd most athletic center in the NBA and he can run, block shots, defend, and rebound. People forget how good he was in Chicago and attribute all of his success in N.O. to Paul. The guy's a pretty good player ... and still really young I think.
Dr. Scholl's, FTW..? I don't mind Chandler...as long as the price is right and it's not done as a desperation move that could mess up the magic that is to come in 2010...
As long as He can stay healthy, He would be a great pick up. He would fill Yao's spot very effectively however what will it cost the Rockets?
Marcus Camby would be a nice one year rental and would keep us afloat at the center position. I don't really see a reason why LAC would care to part with him though since he has a manageable contract and is coming off the books after next year..
Although I agree he is a great athlete, I can't stand watching him play. He is weak. He doesn't like mixing it up. What really irritates is the way he reacts after getting physically dominated. After he gets packed down and scored on or shoved around like a rag doll rebounding, he tries to act like he's pissed and a badass. He'll scowl or throw a flailing elbow, that misses the mark, at the back of the player that just abused him. Landry, Scola, Yao, Ron-Ron and other Rockets got this reaction from him regularly through out the season. He seems like that kid we all grew up with that would talk much crap but would disappear around go-time. You can't go to war with people like that in my opinion.
T-Mac for: Chandler 2-yr) Antonio Daniels (expiring) Rasual Buttler (expiring) This gives the Rockets a solid player who can run and fill the void at center, and it also gives them $10 in cap relief in FY10 to go after a free agent. What do you think?
NO. Guys you are insane if you think we should go after Chandler this offseason. How many games did he play in the last season? 20??? I love the guy when he was healthy as a extremely efficient rebounder and partner of CP3's alleyups...but he just cant stay healthy at all much like Yao. If OKC rescinded the trade for him while only giving up Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith...wat do you reckon we're gonna do with him??? I'd be really happy if that Cousins guy from UH is our starter at Center cos that means we're getting top pick in 2010. Chandlers contract is way too long, Hes paid through 2010-2011 for about 10 mil a year. Something Morey wouldn't touch. Marc Gasol is who we should go after now Memphis has Thabeet. Remember, when in doubt, call Chris Wallace...
That would not give us 10 million of cap relief. The cap does not work like that. It would keep us from being a player in 2010 free agent market. No way we want him on the books for 14 mill per. From the people ive read on here, Bima Thug has incredible knowledge of the cap. Maybe he can drop in here and explain it to you
that trade he suggested is pretty bad in my opinion. that said...Tmac is an expiring himself, so there is no point in getting lesser expirings. I actually think we should hold onto Tmac and keep him and let him come back and get like 30ppg for 30 games near the end of the season...and as if we don't already have massive foot injury bills to pay in Houston...... Right now, Battier is probably gonna be out the door soon.......(hopefully along with Brooks for Bayless Rudy and Outlaw/Martell)... so in 2010: our capspace probably looks something like: Jermaine Taylor (800000k) Chase Budinger (800000k) Kyle Lowry caphold (2 mil?) Jerryd Bayless (2 mil) Rudy Fernandez (1 mil) Scola caphold (5 mil?) Landry caphold (5 mil?) Yao's player option which he WILL take (20mil) all other players will come off the cap such as Outlaw Cook Barry Hayes thats about 35 mil on our payroll. which leaves more than enough to sign a max contract guy and a second tier guy star as well
Ive been thinking about the trade you are suggesting and I'm not against it, just not sold yet either. I think Fernandez would be a perfect fit in this offense but I'm not ready to give up Brooks in that deal yet. I would do Battier for Fernandez and Outlaw but I need to do some more homework on Bayless
No, we should go after CP3. I really feel frustrated about this team now. The current lineup of rox maybe much weaker than Memphis Grizzles. If we are lucky enough, we could get a lottery pick next season. Championship? please forget about it for some years.
I think its a God's gift to the Rockets that Hedo went for Toronto. Cos if Portland had actually landed Hedo they wouldn't even touch Battier unless they are only giving up Channing Frye or something.....or Ike Diogu??? The thing inside me that wants us to trade Battier AND Brooks is that THEIR TRADE VALUE WILL NEVER BE HIGHER, especially for Battier. Brooks could blossom but apart from Chris Paul how many 5'11 guys are starters on their team??? So while AB and Shane's trade value are at their absolute climax I say we trade them asap...I LOVVVE Bayless as a player and think he has much more upside than Brooks...from the Portland message boards I've been reading it seems most of them are reluctant to give up Rudy for Shane, so adding Brooks would only sweeten the deal more for them and obviously we're going to ask for Outlaw or Webster in return. They need a NBA-Ready PG desperately anyways and AB is from Oregon and a massive fan favourite. Bayless isn't proven by any means but hes got all the tools necessary to become the next Chauncey Billups? so since we're not going to make the playoffs next season we might as well give Bayless/Taylor/Dorsey/Budinger some playtime to develop and gain some much needed experience...wat do you say?
I absolutely agree this year will be about growth of our young guys and playing time for them. I'm not against trading Brooks in the right deal. That being said He started only 30 plus games and may have more upside. I worry about his ability to become more of a true point, but do we need that in this system? Bibby was probably a shoot first guy that excelled with RA. Brooks speed kills and his 3 point shot improved. So I'm not overly worried about his size because I think he creates mismatches with his speed as much as he is a liability with his defense. All that being said I will waffle a little and say a point with size is also a plus. I totally agree that Portland wouldn't touch Battier if Hedo was there. That is a plus if we are trade partners. I'm open to the trade but not willing to pull the trigger just yet.
yeah brooks did wonderful in the playoffs...loved how he singled handedly took down the blazers and the lakers...but is he consistent enough??? I don't think hes consistent enough...he was lucky he was matched up against fisher and blake 2 slow old PGs who wouldn't start if they had a halfdecent PG
