This is a great opportunity to trade guys like Battier and TMac for some younger talent. If Yao gets surgery, then he will be out for the year and the Rockets would then have a high lottery pick, some cap space (not enough to dish out a max deal, though), and Yao back for '10-'11.
hey kid, have you ever said ANYTHING positive about Yao or his game?? You've been rooting against him since I can remember...I guess I just don't get people like you who only have negative things to say about someone who's been nothing but a Houston soldier for the past 6 years...one of the most productive, efficient, team-oriented players in the league, and yet not ONE positive thing to say, just diss after diss...nice.
Whats wrong with having some hope? There is no way you know 100% that his career is over. That is a remarkably stupid comment.
if surgery doesn't guarantee that foot ever breaking again, then whats the point....i say let it heal with a conservative method and let Yao play this season...
How about shut the hell up and stop posting? You sound pretty stupid every time you post. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
He is done, stick a fork in him as ever again being healthy for an entire season and the playoffs. The Rockets simply cannot move forward presuming that Yao will be able to carry the team again for any considerable amount of time. He will probably end up having the surgery, and it likely will have a HUGE impact on him physically and psychologically. He is pretty much already lost for all of next season. Rockets need to just let go of their daydreamin' and try to find a big man whom they can begin to build around again. We have nice young pieces, but we now need a first option player to build around. The era of Yao and McGrady is unofficially over. The only question remaining is how the Rockets react to it, and how fast (or slowly) they come to that realization, and ultimately their senses.
