Who wouldn't want the old Steve back if it were possible? Even if it were only for 15-20mins a game!?
This type of logic is circular. It's kind of hard to prove that Francis was more motivated than McGrady, given that Francis never even made it onto the court in the last few years. Both McGrady and Francis seemed out-of-shape/doughy (compared to their primes), and both relied on the excuse that their injuries precluded proper fitness. "Who's the 22nd Highest-Paid American Athlete" of 2008?
What was Grant Hill being paid while he was injury prone all those years? How much was Anfernee Hardaway being paid? This game is a business... I'm sure you all try your best when it's time for a payrise but let the accelorator down abit when you get it. Not to say this is even true in Steve's case... he tore his quad. But look at the likes of Jermaine O'neal 2009 Averages of 13.4ppg 6.4rpg Is that what you pay $21,372,000 for? Malik Rose 2009 Averages 3.4ppg 2.5rpg 2009 Salary $7,647,500 Remember this guy? Kenny Thomas 2009 Averages 0.8ppg 1.9rpg 2009 Salary $8,562,500 He's not the first player to be over paid but atleast he was worth what he was being paid while he was playing.
Steve is the reason I'm a Rockets Fan, I hated this team before him and Now I'm a die hard...Good Luck with everything Steve get off clutchfans.com and get back on the court!
you hated this team when they were Hakeem's Rockets.... but once Stevie got in the mix, you became a Rocket fan????? please tell me you're from Maryland.
WOW! Can't believe I'm gonna give this post the time of day. If you are young then you get a pass. If not then I can safely say you don't know much about the history of this team. Not to bash Francis but it boggles my mind by the amount of people who still believes he can contribute. It's ok to love the guy,he was fun to watch, But damn. That being said at least you are a fan now
