His website is down, anyone tell me what happened with him that everyone thinks he won't be able to play this upcoming season? Everyones on the 'trade' mode. What are the chances he will be in the line up? I rather have his contract expire that way we can compete in 2010.
Deep down in my heart my willingness to move him out of Houston is not strong enough to make a trade, actually I would like to wait and see what's left of him cause' it's his contract year.If he heals perfectly,he might be coming back to his ole form, who could help us alot on the court. Hope Morey could do some tricks to get a good playa in return for T-Mac if this scenario is bout to happen.
You've made 6 threads in less than 48 hours and 3 of them were in reference to Pops Mensah Bonsu. You might want to cut back. Just sayin'.
The general consensus is to trade for Amare. If that doesn't happen, then let him heal. Hopefully we will have enough talent to at least make it to the playoffs and by that time "hopefully" T-Mac (if not traded by then) and Yao will be ready to rock and kick some post season ass.
If we're "rebuilding" anyway, why not just let his contract expire? I just don't think we can contend seriously for a championship this year, even if we do get Rubio or Amare.
But you have to understand that Pops is a little slow. His IQ was last tested at a score of 70. So he's borderline Imbasul.
Because unless Yao opts out of his contract after next season, we still won't have the money to go after one of the marquis free agents in 2010. If you're not going to be a player in free agency in 2010 and you can get good players worth building around by trading TMAC, why not do it? Besides, nobody from the Rockets has said they're rebuilding. If Yao does come back for the 2nd half and they can flip McGrady for something valuable, then the talent level of the team won't be all that different from what it was last year.
I think the only way Detroit would deal Hamilton and Prince for Mac would be if we threw in Landry and maybe a 1st rounder, and we take in kwame browns exp. contract..Every other "trade possibility" seems unlikely.
I think that TMac's contract maybe worth more near the trading deadline than right now. I would hold onto him. Don't expect him to play another game for the Rockets. however.
It's just that I think we're going to be $12-$15 million over the cap next season. Letting TMAC's contract expire WILL get us below the cap, but not by enough to where we could offer a marquis free agent a max contract. And Scola will be a free agent and Lowry will be a RFA.
That is no use to hold on to him till Feb. The team needs to start off with the team that will compete right away. I still believe the team can get players that will help the Rockets this season. I don't believe in wasting away the season. The only good FA in 2010 will stay with their teams anyways. Amare and Barbosa would be a huge upside for the team as they wait for Yao to get back in Feb.
Anyone holding out even the slightest hope that he can return to the Tmac of 2007? The chances may be slim but he is working very hard to get back to where he used to be and come back midseason. As with Yao, there is also a possibility that he can return midseason as well. Best case scenario with what we currently have: Brooks/Lowry Tmac(back in form)/Taylor Ariza/Battier/Budinger Scola/Landry/Hayes Yao(healthy)/Dorsey I know the chance is slim, but I think we may be surprised if midseason rools around and this is what we witness on the court with no health issues. This team can go all the way given Tmac and Yao return to their healthy and productive selves.
A trade will happen but I do not see it this off season. It will likely be by Feb. 2010. Any trade this time would involve other players, most probably Shane.
