Ariza!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the FA I was praying we would get. I hated how LA had
Kobe + all kinds of talent around him(Bynum, Odom, etc) and even given to them (Gasol)+
up and coming guys like this (Ariza!!!!!). I am loving this move-for youth, potential and budget. I like defensive players, so I liked Artest, but am freaking thrilled that Morey went this direction. Ariza is a defensive stopper who is developing a good offensive game.

Yes-I will be patient now...................who knows whats next???????

Jesus Christ i just now found out that the spurs are not content with having 4 all stars/super stars on their roster, now they are pushing to obtain the services of rasheed wallace. This means that i dont care how much praise clutchfans give to Morey, he needs to get his **** together and play a role cuz we are falling way behind all the other teams in the west. Take LA for example, now they have bryant, gasol, odom, and artest to begin games night in and night out. Denver's got lots of offensive fire power in billups, melo, smith, kleisa (all capable of scoring in the 40+ points) Blazers are looking solid and looking to add hedo, mavs looking to get serious all stars also (plus the four that they already have kidd included). Where the heck does that leave houston??? There is no doubt in my mind if management doesnt pull the trigger on a huge trade such as amare, or bosh THIS offseason not only will there be more losses than wins and no playoff appearances but less and less fans night in and night out watching the houston rockets. As of now im interested in finding out what the young guys are capable of, lets hope taylor and/or budinger errupt into a wade type or a dirk type soon otherwise i see nothing in the near future for this team. I hope Morey and everyone takes this into consideration cuz i would much rather deal and do whatever to win NOW and not retool for God knows when.

I SURE HOPE SOMETHING SOLID IS NEXT CUZ THE WAY I SEE IT THIS TEAM IS GONNA TAKE OKLAHOMA'S ROLE NEXT SEASON

    two trades

    Memphis gets
    Brian Cook
    future pick

    Houston gets
    Marc Gasol

    Portland gets
    Shane Battier

    Houston gets
    Martell Webster
    Rudy Fernandez

    2009-2010 Houston Rockets
    C-Gasol/Hayes/Dorsey
    PF-Scola/Landry
    SF-Ariza/Budinger/White
    SG-Fernandez/Webster/Taylor
    PG-Brooks/Lowry

    Yao on IR
Tracy McGrady on IR (If still here/could be traded)
Barry- would make 16 so probably trade or waive

I'm actually getting worried that we may not be able to address the center/backup center problem...

    I wasn't before but I am now...

    Trade with Cleveland:

    Cleveland in:
    Battier and cook
Having Battier next to lebron will really help them against all the good teams
    Orlando: Carter and Lewis
    Boston: Pierce and Allen
    Lakers: Ron and Kobe

    houston in:
Big Z and his expiring if we dont want him after this season we can let him go afterwards

    Trade with Phoenix:

    Phoenix in:
    t mac and carl

    houston in:
    amare and barbosa

    2009 lineup:
    pg: ab
    sg: ?
    sf: ariza
    pf: amare
    c: Big Z

We go for it all in 2010:
Ask Yao to decline player option and sign him to longer contract with less money each year. I think Yao would do it so we can win.

Resign Amare and go after Wade. he said he might leave if Miami doesnt make the team better and im sure he wouldnt mind playing with amare and yao.

    2010 Lineup:
    pg: ab
    sg: wade
    sf: ariza
    pf: amare
    c: yao

This will be a hell of a lineup wat you guys think

I still don't understand why people think the Suns are just going to give us Amare.

Battier for Rudy doesn't work cap wise.

I was just going to say, "Okay, then Battier for Rudy and filler." But apparently Portland doesn't have any filler contracts. Except for Steve Blake and they probably wouldn't move him without getting a PG in return. I guess we'll have to wait until things shake out between the Blazers, Hedo and Andre Miller before speculating on Rudy.

What if we give them Lowry also?

    Battier + Lowry = Fernandez + Blake?

Well we'd have a lot more cap room next year since Blake is expiring but I think we'd be giving up too much. Maybe if Portland throws in some picks or promising Euro prospects.

Blake + Batum + Fernandez for Lowry + Battier?

We get a starting PG, starting SG, and backup SF in return. Plus Batum and Fernandez are both very young, which plays into the rebuilding effort. All 3 contracts expire after next season too.

Although I would fully expect them to counter with a deal that swaps Brooks for Lowry.

Brooks → Fernandez + rights to Mills & Freeland
*Rudy possibly wants out if Blazers get Hedo
*Blazers possibly renouncing Freeland & Koponen to have the cap space to sign Hedo

    McGrady + Cook → Harrington + Mobley (80% paid by insurance) + Crawford (non-guaranteed) + Hunter (non-guaranteed)
*Waive Joe Crawford & Chris Hunter.
*Harrington & Mobley both expiring and more trade-friendly than McGrady's contract.

Lowry + Mobley + Harrington + rights to Taylor → Hinrich + Miller

    Sign Pablo Prigioni

    Hinrich Prigioni Mills
    Ariza Fernandez
    Battier Barry Budinger (Leunen/Newley)
    Scola Landry Dorsey
    Miller Hayes Yao

    Brooks Blake
    Rou Bayless Batum
    Hedo Webster
    Aldridge Outlaw Pendergraph
    Pryzbilla Oden

    Rose Lowry Roberson
    Salmons Taylor Nelson Mobley
    Deng Harrington Johnson
    Tyrus Gibson TimThomas
    Noah Gray

Battier for Fernandez & Webster or Fernandez & Outlaw works!

Webster has the longest contract so they would probably want us to take him. Webster is only 22 though, so he would be worth obtaining even if his contract is for 4 to 5 yrs.

why tha *** people are hating on battier, cmon man, he was the leader of our team in the playoff, he did such great job with the youngsters, and no it's battier who gota us of the first round not ron in my opinion,
and even if he average 5 ppg i can live with it, he is the best defender out there, and we should keep him.

    and please people shut up.
