With the current team? Very unlikely. .They'll stay competitive because they have good coaching, smart veterans, and they know how to play hard and defend. They could win 40 games if they stay impeccably healthy. But the team needed to add better offensive players this summer -- some second round draft picks and Ariza don't cut it.

I have a feeling Morey is doing everything in his power to make sure we don't.

We can but probably a sixth seed at best after all the trades are done this offseason so I'd rather not make them and get a lottery pick. We can get a strong young player in a strong draft and to sign a reasonable star like Johnson or Bosh to pair with a finally healthy Yao for one more run at it!

not sure, but in the last couple games that we won without Yao against the lakers in the playoffs, Artest really didn't have very good games, it was really other guys like brooks, battier, landry, and scola all stepping up to win those last 2 games so maybe they can all step their games up with more touches now and possibly have a chance. But still way too early to say...we need to see what the roster looks like on opening night to have a better idea of our chances to make the playoffs...

We will probably be around the 9th or 10th seed. We can get close, only because our role players have proven they can hang with the Championship Lakers. But no way do we make the playoffs, simply because we do not have a real go-to guy.

Now, if Brooks develops into the go-to guy, maybe we can steal the 8th seed and pull a GSW haha and upset the #1 seed.

I just want to know where all of those "We took the Lakers to 7 Games w/o Yao and Grady" guys are these days. You know...the ones that called you "stupid" if you suggested standing pat was going backwards.

I'm sure they'll step up in here any minute now and tell us all about how heart and hustle will offset Artest to the Lakers, Hedo to the Blazers and Jefferson to the Spurs...heck, I'll bet those geniuses aren't even worried about Gortat going to the Mavs because their full MLE was too steep for the Magic.

We should all hope to be as smart as those "Don't break up the team, we took the Lakers to 7 Games" guys.

I think the Brooks and Scola show can get the 8th see. I don't see who else is gonna get it if Pheonix blows up their team

Maybe as the 8th seed, in front of New Orleans.

Slim chance of this happening anyways.

We will get the 6th or 7th spot..AB will have all-star type numbers..its pretty much his team now.

Well AB and Scola will pick up the slack. I know Scola can be a 20-10 player if he had the shot attempts.

I think our season is going to be fresh and a dose of reality without Tmac and Yao, at least for half a season. We get a good preview of life after Yao and Tmac

There is aperception that the West is still the powerhouse it was 5 years ago. This is not the case. You have Lakers, Spurs, Nuggets and Blazers. The next four spots are up for grabs. We can range anywhere betweem 7th to 11th seed in my opinion.

We have a chanve to make the playoffs, but I'm not one of those stupid fans thinking we can be successful for taking the Lakers to 7. If we make the playoffs, we fail miserably in the first round. That's IF we make the playoffs, which is probably a 30-40% chance. hehe Sorry I'm just pulling that number out of my arrse, but I feel it sounds about right that we have a chance to be in the playoffs, but it's less than 50%.

I think we can because everyone on the team has to step up their game. I also wonder if Morey is going to try and trade T-Mac for a good, legit back-up that can start, Maybe Marc Gasol.

Theres no way, and all of Our big 3 ( if we trade them) will be going to better teams anyway.. without them hope is definetely lost.

I think this year Brooks will take his game to the next level. Now he has the green light to try and score at will.
