I support Artest for his decision to leave. He really thought we were a contender, and now we obviously aren't. I am frustrated that it had to be the Lakers though. I would have prefered the Cavs, at least he'd be out east and out of our way.

the lakers and their fans in no way deserve their good fortune.

half of my coworkers are laker fans, have never been to LA and are complete tools.

well it works because they have Kobe bryant. Ron actually looks up to kobe, even if he talks smack to him sometimes, h's like in awe of kobe...so i don't doubt Kobe can keep him in check all by himself...now that doesn't mean he's going to turn ron into an all-star again, but he should be able to at least get him to move the ball. If ron doesn't, you can be sure Kobe will remind him VERY SINGLE posession if he has to. If he doesn't, he'll chew him out during a dead ball...that's what we were missing, no one on the rockets has that personality, no one, they all wanted to let him be ron and you can't have that..

Because there is no point in keeping Battier. Ariza is younger and a good defender..not as good as Battier but Battier is up in age. There's no point in having both Ariza and Battier on the roster. Shane, along with others, can bring a player to Houston that we need (Center, young talent, etc)

see ya artest, thanks for everything.

the rockets are pretty short on talent now...yao out indefinitely, t-mac out indefinitely and artest gone now.

we went from a "big 3" to nothing. haha, just our luck.

The lure of a championship is what has gotten Artest to LA. And he will become a cheaper option then Ariza because his agent has messed about and now he will look elsewhere.

Not even Boston and their Big 3 have been able to get a FA signing like Artest.

    Lakers don't need Ron Artest?

    What did Ariza do?

Play D, and hit wide open 3's.

Considering Ron has shot like 40 percent from 3 for the past 3 years, he can do what Ariza did.

And he can guard PF's in the post, something Ariza can't do

was that one year offer by the rockets confirmed? from what I read I thought it was all nonsense and he wasnt either offered any deal yet by the rockets or he was offered more than a one year deal

I honestly didn't expect the outrage. Why would a Rockets fan even want him here? So we can be one-and-done once again in the playoffs?

Obviously Morey didn't even try to resign Artest, or he'd still be here. It shows how serious Yao's injury is, and how basically this team is going to rebuild.

Right now, I doubt even Scola and Battier are locks to end the season with the Rockets.

Oh wait. You're the same guy who proposed that we should go after Lamar "Odem."

The only part of this whole thing that bothers me is that we gave up so much to get Artest here.

I never really expected him to stay and was mostly pleasantly surprised at what he brought to the team, but the loss of draft picks and young talent to get him for just one year basically is what bothers me.

He repped Houston crazy with his haircut and then bolts for the Lakers.

Morey didn't offer enough obviously. We're in transition folks. I can't believe I'm saying this after our first decent postseason run in forever.

We have 11 players that will play right now, including Taylor and Buddinger. Hopefully we will add Ariza, however our team still looks terrible on paper.

I hate to say it but I would rather have the Thunder's roster over ours.
