Someone gave you a million dollars and told you to spend it whatever way you want as long as you use some of it to give back to the community? In botany class today, we were discussing mosses and ferns and how they are used and made into natural resources. It was also brought up how when someone has a car and they have a full tank, they will drive and take unnecessary trips just because they have the gas and then realize later that they wasted it. Then he went on to say, that if someone gave you a million dollars how much would you have left after 6 months. Some people said not much. Then including doing something positive for your community, and or the city of Houston. That made me think. This is what I came up with. I would first put half away...................500K I would then pay back student loans and credit card bills.......20K at the most. I don't even think it will be close to that. I would buy me and my mom a car, and my dad a truck.......probably no more than 70K total I would put away 150K for vet/zoology school. Last I would buy a house...... 225K Now that the most important thing are taken care of, as my I would go into my saving (if I have to, but not taking out more than 150K) buy a nice size land and have an Animal Hospital built, help vaccinate and pay for the medications for the animals at the HSPCA. and maybe buy the Comets What would you do with it, and what will be your community service project?
Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I had a million dollars I could hook that up, cause chicks dig a dude with money.
Humans before animals. I'd do a mini-Mutombo thing and help save lives by providing yet another medical facility. Our most important resource is still our health and family. Its what we "live" for, living=good health. As far as deciding how people would pay for it, thats beyond me. But while helping people, that 1 million could turn into multi-millions like that
I'd give some to my family, buy a house and a car (only because mine is getting up there in miles), buy court side season tickets to the Rockets, and then put the rest away. Obviously I don't know for certain, but I can't imagine being one of those people who gets rich only to throw all their money away. I'm very frugal with what I have now, and even when I play board games or video games where the money isn't even real I have a tendency to hold on to it. I'm a worst case scenario type of thinker, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
