Ariza To Receive Big Payday From Blazers Or Raptors
    More Trail Blazers News

    Jul 02, 2009 2:10 AM EST

According to a Twitter post by Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, Trevor Ariza will become a very rich man at the hands of the team that loses out on Hedo Turkoglu.

League executives believe Portland or Toronto, whichever team does not sign Turkoglu, will offer Ariza between $32 million and $40 million deal.

Portland is a good fit for him, IDK about Toronto though. He'd be ask to do too much.

Portland he can just play his role and let the young stars do the scoring and he fits their super athletic team.

Isn't the max length for a free agent deal 5 years now? That would make it a MINIMUM of $6 mil/yr.

Again, no chance I want him for that price tag.

I agree, unless he develops a legit 3 point shot.

Yeah I agree. Crazy how a few clutch steals in the playoffs and occasionally knocking down a wide open three will inflate your value.

Well he got a ring already so I guess being on a winning team aint an issue anymore. There is basically no chance in hell he is gonna be in houston so I hope he ends up very very rich in a very very crappy team. I hope he likes the cold weather and ends up in Toronto.

This offseason SUCKS. Can we not get anyone?

    Gortat - Orlando Will Match

    Artest - Not coming back

McGrady - for Samuel Dalembert? WTF

Meanwhile the Spurs are having the time of their lives with DeJuan Blair and Richard Jefferson.

The absolute worst thing Morey can do is sign Trevor Ariza. Ariza is a solid player who would be a quality acquisition except for one thing -- his feet. Doctors a year or so again reported he has chronic defects in the structure of his feet. The very quality that makes him so attractive -- his aggressive, relentless play -- will lead to broken foot bones. He is a ticking time bomb. After he signs a fat contract, he will end up sitting out for years like Grant Hill.

Why use the Grant Hill reference when you have the Yao reference perfectly at your disposal? lol

I'm sure the Lakers would love to have Shane. Maybe we could work a sign and trade along the lines of Shane for Ariza and Josh Powell? Maybe someone more expensive than Powell, just depends on what we're willing to give Ariza.

Then we would still be free to use our MLE on a young big like the Polish Hammer.

I don't think we are going to get anyone unless we make some kind of trade. If we do get someone its going to be a center and thats it. Hopefully it will be one that can run and create havoc. I really don't mind the dalembert trade if that goes down.

Grant Hill just had horrible luck.

This is really a whole debate in it's self but anyway, man where would he rank among the all-timers if he never was injured?

He averaged 25.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 5.2 apg the year before he went to Orlando and became plagued by injuries. Wow, that's LeBron-like numbers haha.

I say pass. Battier>Ariza and Artest >> Ariza. You would likely have to move Battier because he can't play 2 guard and niether can Ariza. You would have to keep Artest. I would much rather have Gortat, Scola, Battier, Artest, and Brooks holding it down until (if) Yao and TMac come back. Ariza doesn't fit. Battier is a much better shooter also (when he's on at least).

    Trevor Ariza = Shandon Anderson

Is Shandon Anderson really worth that kind of money?
