If you could only re-sign one, whom would it be?

Well, it is offseason and Morey has a lot of choices to make.

This thread is about his choices at the Wing position, assume Battier stays, whom would you rather sign for the Rockets?

    Von or Ron?

For me it is Von, we need his athleticism more than we need Ron's toughness.

Not to mention Ron would cost 10 million while Von is a lot cheaper.

So, if you had to choose, whom would you resign?

    Ron, or Von?

    if i had to choose

    Ron

he was more vital to the team success

and it seems like the Rockets have found cheaper options to replace Von

they havent done that yet for Ron (or if they plan to)

You guys were too fast, the thread posts before the poll does..come on now...

Me, with Yao out, and maybe done, I would resign Von for his athleticism and much CHEAPER contract.

How many posts have you made on the same ****ing issue?

It seems the answer is pretty clear by now. It's is "neither." Or more specifically, Ron if he'll take a 1 year deal, and "no" to Wafer because the Rockets are saving money for Gortat.

It depends on the money offered. I'd rather have Ron for 5 million than Von for 4 million. I'd rather have Von at 2 million than Ron at 8 million.

I think with the uncertainty of Yao, you let Ron go...and sign Von.

Get younger, more athletic, and more efficient.

Ron has had a good career, he is not someone you can build around, neither is Von, but he has a lot of room to grow and according to Morey has elite athleticism.

So, I take the young up and comer over the old, down and outer.

    :D

Durv assume it is Von for $3 millon and Ron for $9 million....

Neither. Von's little temper tantrum (and the timing of it) raises huge red flags, and Ron is too old to hold on to, since we're clearly rebuilding.

If I have to pick one, Von. He's younger and, more importantly, he's way cheaper -- so he wouldn't have as much impact on our freedom to make other moves. And Ron's too old to be in our long-term plans. Given that we're building for the future now, long-term plans are the only ones that matter. Von would at least have a shot at being in our plans, since he's young enough to be around the next time we could hope to make a run. So if I have to re-sign one of them, it would be him.

But if I don't have to pick one, I won't. I really like both of these guys, but Von could only make sense for us after everything else is done. And even then, probably not. And if so, probably only at a vet minimum contract. He'll be looking for more than that and he'll probably get it. We can't afford to commit more to him right now.

We have bigger problems to solve than who our next 2/3 is gonna be though.

What Von brings to the team is replaceable. Much more replaceable than what Artest brings to a team.

i think this is a false choice because the rockets have the money under the LT to sign both of them if they wanted to.

the question is what to do with the MLE... gortat or von? what do you say to that choice DD?
