does anyone know why Phil Mickelson always wears that "KPMG Consulting" visor? Is he affiliated with the company as a part owner? I can't assume it's a marketing ploy, b/c why would a consulting corp. have a choking golfer endorse their name? ;)

on a side note, is anyone else sick of hearing "get in the hole" after every single golfer takes a swing in the U.S. Open? I think its the same guy who runs from gallery to gallery, just to annoy everyone... a la that dude in "Happy Gilmore." ;)

Lol, funny post. That visor is gonna be a bad omen for KPMG. Already the Big 5 is dead...now it's gonna be the Big 3. Sounds better anywayz. (a la Nowitzki,Nash,Francis; CB4, Drexler, Dream; Big Dog, Ray Allen, E.T.)

Ya i think about Happy Gilmore watching the open too....damn these NY fans are rowdy. I can't STAND sergio's "waggles". I just end up counting em every time. AGHHHH! This is like Karl Malone's FT's in the '96 playoffs versus Seattle. People should just start counting out loud.

Tiger's half way to a real grand slam!

man the guy had a sluggish weekend, but still won! Here's to hoping that a Woods-Garcia rivalry continues for the next decade!

i think the fact they were paired on the sunday of a major can safely assume it has started.

The only rival that Tiger has right now is Jack Nicklaus

that would be ideal!! start counting out loud...LOL... the 'waggles' are freaking annoying. How can anyone hit a ball after all that waggling?
How could you not have this going through your mind, "maybe i would've hit it better on that waggle before last or maybe one or two more waggles next time!?"

I would go insane waggling that much!!

how can you start a thread calling Mickelson a choker when he did MUCH better than Garcia on Sunday and finished ahead of him?

I don't see how anyone could call Mickelson a choker based on his performance in the 2002 US Open. Other tournaments, sure...But not this one!

People forgot that he was TEN STROKES BEHIND on Saturday. TEN ****ING STROKES. And he finished within 3 of Tiger Woods at the end of Sunday. That's pretty good to me.

by labeling him a choker, i was not specifically speaking of the 2002 U.S. Open, but rather looking at his final day performances throughout his career. To not recognize his tendency to fall apart on sundays is to be in denial.

By the way, did anyone catch what the crowd was taunting Sergio about concerning Hingis? Was it something about milking?

Phil has a lucrative endorsement deal from KPMG. I would imagine they are ecstatic to have someone like Phil parading their brand.

Lefty is awesome to watch and the public love him. As for being a choker, he is one of only two active players who have career PGA Tour exemptions, obtained by winning 20 tour events.

Lets face it, in any era other than now, Phil would have a few majors under his belt.

But he still lost. He's by far the best golfer in the world today without a Major. He's finished in the top 10 or top 5 a number of times, but cannot seem to get the job done.

Is he a choker? Only at Majors...yep...a Major Choker.
