Just wondering if anyone has heard any sort of update on Tracy's rehab and how it's going. It sure would be nice to have some sort of idea on his status for next year now that free agency is in full swing. Last I heard is best possible scenario he is back around the start of the season, and worst case his career is over... same w/ yao pretty much.. That being said I still don't want Gortat really... At the same time, I don't really have any better ideas.... They need to resign Ron though at least..
take this for what its worth my friend saw him yesterday at this asia benefit charity thing last night here in LA. she was able to get in through some UCLA law school dealie but wanted to go because Kobe was going to be there. I asked her if Mcgrady looked fat from not working out she said he looked fine but then again she wouldnt be able to tell the difference between an "in shape" tmac and an out of shape one so he isnt in chicago right now rehabbing he is in LA but who knows could have gone back today or stayed here.
Its more he's out due to microfracture surgery....and if he's back by the all star break then he's done an average job rehabbing.....if you rush back from microfracture.......you have a good chance of hurting yourself worse.
I heard t-mac went to Kobe's championship party in LA with all of the Laker teammates. Phil Jackson came up and applauded Tracy for believing in them that they could win it all. Tracy talked about how everyone doubted them after losing Game 4 to Houston, but Tracy never gave up hope. Now shedding tears, he told everyone how proud he was of them, and that he knew they could do it. It was just a beautiful scene, pure and full of emotion. What a spectacle.
coming back from microfracture surgery is tough, there is a lot that goes into it besides rehab, if his fibrocartilage doesnt grow back, regardless of the rehab he cant play, they have to wait for all that fibrocartilage to grow before he can really get things moving, it depends on his body more than his rehab, the rehab is there to prevent loss of mobility from scar tissue, ive known people that have had surgery but the complications came from their own body unable to heal. Thats why its so risky, his return wont be late due to his laziness thats just stupid ignorant thinking.
He is spposed to start on-court workouts in week I belive. Morey said more updated would be available in July.
training camp is still 2+ months away. if he is able to start on court workouts within a month, expect him to be sooner than anticipated.

There's something ironic about a guy called 'the realist' being this upset about McGrady calling the Lakers the favorites...
Then, he'll ruin the team by coming back too early, hobble up and down and not giving any effort. After the Rockets fall 10 games below .500, he'll suffer some mental setback and probably get "injured" to avoid the rest of the horrible season.
