may as well get something for him, might as well. he would be a solid back up to yao and would be solid until yao would come back, if he doesn't work out then he's a huge expiring for next year.
Trade one of our top players last year for a Yao-lite who is just as injury prone? And also 34 years old? Really?
Yeah - exactly It can't really hurt. Get them to throw in a future first rounder and then we're talking. Ilgauskas still put up 12.5ppg and 7.5rpg last season. I can think of worse 1 year "rentals" If we did that, I'd be pretty keen to pursue a McGrady for Prince/ Hamilton swap though.
why do u say that? Just because he met with lebron? That doesn't mean crap. Relax. Oh, and the answer is heck no!
He need to replace the slow, immobile Yao with an equally slow and immobile center. Yup, good thinking.
I could see Detroit trading Hamilton for Z plus a pick and get cap relief. A much easier trade for them instead of the McGrady route. Rip won't create problems unlike Ron in Cleveland.
thats exactly what i was thinking. Its time to get with the times and go with a athletic PF/C. Someone who wouldnt mind playing backup when/if Yao returns.
I really don't see why not if Artest is set on going there. Actually, it pretty much HAS to happen if Artest decides he wants to go there. That's the only way they can pay him.
Even if we are going to lose Artest, you do NOT enable the #1 championship contender (which they are since they've acquired Shaq) in such a fashion. A SNT with Ilgauskas would work too perfectly for them, since Varejao is a fine backup and they now have one too many bigs over 7ft. Let them find someone else to solve their center glut problem for them.
