He can play the five. He's expensive but he fills alot of needs. He gives us championship experience, long range shooting from the four position, and length. I'd bring him over if the price was right.
It's difficult to gauge Rasheed Wallace, how much talent he still has. Detroit's players obviously shut it down last year, when it became clear that Dumars was planning to clear cap space. No, correction: they stopped playing well, and coasted even more than before. When Dumars traded for chemistry-killer Iverson ("I'll still compete while paving the way for the undersung free agent class of summer 2009!!"), and sent away the popular floor general Chauncey Billups, I think it brought out the "malcontent-iest" in the malcontent Rasheed Wallace. Do we have real interest in Rasheed, how much is he worth, how much would we be willing to pay, will he stay motivated and healthy over the course of a new contract (which would be 2 or 3 years), what kind of role would he accept on the team, etc etc.
I actually wouldn't mind. Don't know if Sheed's still got much left though, and what do we do with Landry + Scola? I'd rather have Landry and Scola over Sheed.
I do not know Racheed Wallace, except by several years of observation of him on Tv. So my conclusions about his personality and game are limited. Wallace seems to be an older, lazy malcontent with a street mentality, which is the opposite type of player i would want on our team. He is not a building block but one in the latter years of his tainted Career, wanting money and fame
I think they would actually push each other. Highly doubt it could happen, but it might not be bad if it did.
He did say that, even if he changes his mind he is not worth going after.Rasheed has talent but his 3 point shooting is hugely over rated,he doesn't like going inside the paint on offense. Defensively,he could be useful but he needed a prime Ben Wallace to get the best out of him. He has gotten older and isn't the kind of guy who can play with another relatively raw backup like Gortat. If he wants to play with Duncan or Dwight, that's fine with me.
I don't think he'll be a rocket, I don't think he'll fit, even thought we need that type of player like him, but just I don't see it playing with us ....
With Yao, he would've been a great get. Without Yao? Pointless. I think he goes to San Antonio or Boston, but I would've loved to have seen him in Rockets read prior to Yao's recent news.
