Yao is even confused by himself.

He feels good and nothing wrong, but the doctors said its not good at all and could be season ending.

Pain is not an indicator of injury. The father of my friend had a stroke and didn't feel anything. His family only found out he had already had stroke before when he had another attack while jogging and died on the spot.

So some of you don't want him to play for China, yet you want him to play the full 82 games for the Rockets when the NBA season begins? Ironic.

Yes but this a bone. Bone injury cause pain unless he have lost all the sensitivity on his lower body. Yes have something wrong but not at the degree of being a career threatening. Every time a player have a serious injury there is a risk of the guy never playing at the highest level again, but the percentage of that happening is low.

Holy ****. Did anybody actually read my post, with the original quote and everything:

Sina Reporter: Is Yao's injury career ending

"Chinese basketball official": Team Yao told us it's premature to talk retirement, they didn't tell us whether he'll play next NBA season/WC 2010

Yahoo/AFP spin: Chinese official deny extent of Yao's injury.

Certain CFers: Like China is a good source.

Certain other CFers: Damn those Commie officials

Sina didn't lie. "Chinese basketball official" didn't deny extent of his injury. Yahoo/AFP lied. Certain CFers are so out of touch with reality it's scary.

Show's over. End of story. Now move on.

Except the Rockets pay his salary and China does not. I want Yao to play the majority of the season with less minutes so he can play in the playoffs. Then I would like him to get rest like the majority of NBA players. Leave to China to try and force a 7'5 315 pound person play year round.

I honestly think Yao is fine and they are trying to make sure he does not play this summer. I also believe Yao himself knows what is going on.

Yao could be missing a leg and the Chinese government would still expect him to play for them.

Wow are they in denial like some of the other YOF on here. The guy is out for the season. Why is that so hard to believe. Its not like its a 1st time thing. People should be use to it by now. the 3rd time he is going through with this and on the same foot. SMH this guy is done already.

let's just wait for good news.
anyway, Yao would not take another operation if there is one.
early retirement is an option for him, and a good position in China is ready for him anytime though.
But still, I wish he can bing this city a title.
