Minnesota can have Wafer for 2 million dollars cash and no players or picks, which is less than we paid for any of our second round draft picks. And you think he'd be more attractive to them than Brooks? You need to get your head checked.

I wasn't aware that Rubio was athletic and a good shooter, which are both listed as reasons why we should do it.

Right now...we NEED Amar'e to replace Yao. Rockets should be doing everything they can to get this deal done and then sign him to a extension IMO.

Amare at Center and Scola at PF, well it will work BETTER than Yao. Adelman gets to run his offense because Yao had put limitations on it. With Amare at C, ore even Gortat at C and Amare at four, it still allows Adelman to run his offense better than it did with Yao.

I feel if we can get Amar'e To replace Yao, this team can't get any worse. In the middle our post defense will get worse, unless we get Gortat. One thing though, Adelman will bring out the very best in Amar'e.

Rubio would be nice to go along with it, but just getting Amar'e would be all this team needs. A core of Amare/Artest/Scola. That's not bad at all, depending on who we trade of course.

I think the original deal for Stoudemire is giving up too much.

We should just offer McGrady and Landry for Stoudemire and Barbosa.

It'd be a great move for the Suns on a number of fronts:
Firstly, the coveted 2010 cap room.
Currently they're committed to about $41million for 2010 - making this deal would slash about $25million from their projected payroll.

Secondly they get to have a good look at Landry. He would walk in there as the starting PF, and if he shows anything at all he's going to be a very useful asset going into next off-season - team option on his $3million salary

Thirdly they get to at least save a bunch of cash with McGrady. At best he comes back late in the season and plays. If he plays it'll be at a high level since he's looking for a new contract - and then Phx will hold his rights entering the off-season.
With only $17million committed they could sign LeBron AND Bosh (or whichever 2 free agents they wanted) and then bring back TMac, and Nash and have a couple of years of contention with those 4 and JRich. (or use their current peices in S&T deals or whatever).

I hope I don't need to outline why such a deal would make sense for Houston?
We'd end up with a solid lineup - even without Ming. It puts us out of the 2010 sweepstakes, but if we manage to sign Gortat, it'd give us a strong lineup even without the injured Ming.

Agreed. Absolutely agreed. Realistic, probably not. But if it were...we'd be centerless. But we'd gain one incredible player.

There is no chance Minny takes your trade. You honestly think Von is an up and coming star? He bounced around the NBA for years before finally landing a back up role on the Rox. His defense is terrible and he is very inconsistent. The only way Minny gives up Rubio right now is if they are totally wowed by an offer and yours is hardly that.

As for adding Ben Wallace to a trade, that cant be done for Cook. Cook makes 3.5 million next year and Wallace 14 million. Salaries dont come close and the money doesnt work. Besides, Im assuming Phoenix hopes to buyout Wallace and save some cash, not use him to take back equal salary.

With the news about Yao, its going to be even harder to get value in trade, plus Morey is getting rep for being so shrewd, and no GM wants to add to that reputation.

Both of those trades have already been turned down, so they have to be sweetened, in order to have any chance of happening.

PHO might do the trade, but perhaps we need to send them a TE for one of their players to lower their cap, and your primary trade bait, which is Brooks and Landry are now not available for MIN.

To get Rubio, we'll not only need to give them a Brooks, Battier and something else, which we do not have, but probably take back a bad contract.

I just don't see getting both players out of what we've got.

----nobody wants TMAC, including the Rockets.

    ----Battier is overpaid and overrated.

    ----Landry and Brooks are scrubs.

----Morey will never take a player with crap contract.

----All these trades should go to one big thread titled with " random trade idea"

Aren't these the same trade ideas we've been discussing for a month and a half now?

Shoulda made the deal when Kerr had the random Idea to trade Amar'e for whatever reason.

Because now they might hold onto him now.

if they wanted "shooters" they wouldnt have gotten rid of mike miller to draft rubio.....battier may be better than miller......but barry and wafer dont have more value than randy foye and an extra pick is not enough

so the suns trade amare (already an all star every year) for a "potential all star" plus they give up barbosa, who's not even old in the first place to get "young blood"? why? cause steve nash wants to win 3 years from now?

I more or less agree with you. Let's see what all the math equations and moneyball can do for Morey now.

I agree, like I said our off season will be signing Artest as our biggest highlight.

How about a 3 way deal where we get Amare and Rubio, the suns get Tracy and Brooks or Landry, and Minny gets Barbosa and Brooks or Landry.

I doubt Minny will give up Rubio. If Yao is to miss all of the season the Rockets should try to get Amare. This will be the only option I believe will have the Rockets back in the hunt. If the Rockets can't get Amare I just don't know what else is out there that can have the Rockets back in the hunt for a title, if not then rebuilding will be the next option. I just can't wait till the season starts and I can check out the team when they come down here to the Rio Grande Valley in October. I will get the watch the team play the Celtics.
