How did they get screwed? Not trying to be a smartass...I am really lost. Didn't they want Boozer back?

Millsap & Okur (pending him opting out) will be harder to retain now that Boozer picked up that near $13 million option.

Do you think we could get any of those guys? Having Okur here would be perfect for Adelman's system, he'll probably be a better fit than Yao himself.

Very unlikely, unless TMac's traded for a 3 team deal.

okur just opted in. Now they are at 72 million without signing their 1st round pick and wtihout signing any free agents. They'll have to pay the 2X on anything they give millsap.

With Boozer coming back, their team chemistry could really get messed up. With Okur & Korver also coming back, Millsap is definitely a goner. This season is going to be a slow burn for the Jazz. They are a good team, but not a contender and everyone knows it. They will be treading water until it all blows up next season when Boozer, Okur and Korver all bolt with no other free agents wanting to play there. Wouldn't be surprised if any or all three of Okur, Boozer and Korver get traded near the deadline.

I don't think Millsap is going to break the bank like he hoped. He's more valuable to the Jazz than any other team. This is the worst case scenario for him.

Eeeeesh, dunno I'd go that far. Boozer has a lot more versatility than Millsap - better shot, better passer. But I do agree that the Jazz may be taken aback by this ... with Boozer and Okur turning down their options, that leaves them in quite a hole, especially when you throw Korver into the mix.

Boozer still made the right move, at least for his sake. Ain't no team gonna pay him 12.7 mill this offseason.
