Who...on a setup during offense...dribbles the most and tries to show off the most...Mobley or Francis?

New post please. I believe it is our job to support the Rockets, not bash them.

I feel this thread is unnecessary.

None of the players dribble to show off.

Well, the reason I wrote that was because I have noticed on plays that when Stevie or Cat would handle the ball 1-on-1, they dribble and dribble and dribble until the 24 second clock winds down to 3. I hate that crap....the rest of the players just stand there watching them dribble....dribble.....dribble.....thinking it is a show off contest...

Don't forget about Moochie. He can dribble down the shotclock with the best of em.

I'm just pointing out that weakness of them just driving the clock down....This is a run and gun offense!! It is just fundamental basketball to look up....see the open men...and pass the ball around to the wide open guy. But instead....got some 1-on-1 players who get themselves cornered and double-teamed...

Hang around a bit more, there are a lot of us that feel the same way, it has been discussed ad nauseum though.

And by the way RonGraham...., DCBaller, Houstone, and Saleem, if you think I'm slamming those two....why don't you check out the thread below....someone like you guys are trying to back them up too...so I see there are a few people who don't like how they hold up the offense sometimes....

yup they sure do dribble too, much. They do that cause now one else can score either. And rudy had a new offense that would involve more passing, but injuries kept that from happening. The rox sucked this year so bash em for it. When they win be happy and say YEAH!!!

you're right all 3 of them dribble way too much but i don't think any of them are "showing off" as you put it. that's probably the reason some people came down on ya. last year we couldn't develop a consistent offense so it was pretty much give the ball to steve, etc. and see what happens.

You are mentioning that all 3 are doing this, but the Rockets are so use to the old post game offense. Throwing it into Hakeem....make him do the magic, or kick it out to someone who is watching (repeat 100x).

Now w/ Franchise, Mobley, and Mooch....they are more run and gun. I can understand the dribbling and I like how they take over, but when they do, they just keep their head down, see the defender in front of them, and just go 1-on-1. They don't see Griffin on the wing, Thomas on the post...nothing. They're motto: Just drive..and hope for the best. I saw all that this past season, and the season before.

But hopefully w/ Ming, they can develop him to the run and gun offense that Rudy is going with now. Then Franchise, Mobley, and Mooch can actually keep their head up and pass more and get EVERYONE involved. I'm glad they are getting rid of that crappy low post offense. It's OLD and REPETITIVE!!
