If the Rockets do blow it up as many here suggest, who will take their guys?

    I am thinking:

    1. Lakers: Can use Ron or Battier, particularly if Ariza bolts.
    2. Cleveland: Need to keep King James
    3. Knicks: Rockets have good supporting players who won't kill their cap room for 2010.
    4. Boston: One more run at the title in 2010.
    5. Denver: Dumped a lot of salary last year, may be in position to pick them up.

Detroit might also be on the list, given their cap room, the Rockets can do a straight salary dump with no money coming back.

I wouldn't mind trading for few of Portland's players. Portland could use a couple of good vets to go with their young core.

I might be intrigued by a deal for Cleveland's unprotected number 1 in 2011 or 2012 under the assumption that they won't win a championship and LeBron will bolt thus creating a very high lottery pick.

So then its guranteed to be a top 3 lottery pick for the Knicks are too busy dumping everyone from the ship in order to make to room for his majesty. Could be 10-72 season for them and our chance at striking gold. Utah is not looking to rebuild so maybe we can trade a glue guy like Battier and Landry and take a chance at playing the John Walls sweepstake.

I'm not giving up on them yet i still believe. Tracy has had time off hopefully he comes back fresh and maybe they will work magic with Yao foot again and hopefully Artest resigns if these 3 happen i think we will be in contention again. Man, Hope Tracy comes back strong.

    This thread sucks!

teams get plundered if they need money or aren't making money. We are neither.

We're giving up on next season already? Damn!!! Less than a week ago we were going to win it all with Rubio. You guys are hilarious.

No need to give up yet. Even if Yao can't play anymore, and T-Mac is shipped out, We still have a good nucleus of young stars like Brooks, Lowry, Wafer (maybe), Landry, Hayes, Dorsey, and the new guys Budinger and Taylor.

What exactly can those teams give that we would want? None of our good pieces have big contracts, the only way they're getting any of our good pieces is to take Mcgrady assuming we're shedding salary just to shed salary. Even if you assume that's the case, none of the teams you listed would send back anything worthwhile for say Mcgrady + Brooks.

When people say blow it up, they don't mean a deal like Carter for Lee + Alston, they mean something like Amare for Biedrins + No. 7 + Wright or Battier + Brooks for Rubio. We will send established talent to a team for unproven talent with potential. That's what blow it up means to me.

Baron Davis and Kaman for T-Mac.

    Davis
    Wafer (if resigned)
    Battier
    Scola
    Kaman

    Brooks
    Lowry
    Barry
    Landry

Thats the worst lineup I would think of. Davis + Kaman + Wafer = disaster. I'd rather trade T-Mac to the Warriors for Beidrins and some decent shooters.
