I like your thinking but i would like it if we can pry out Kaman instead of Randolph. So we can put bosh at his original position.
I do not know if anyone has mentioned Dorsey yet. Shouldn't he be given a chance. I predict 15 minutes a game. There really aren't that many teams with good centers. I say build around Yao's return.
It's "one of those" Dick Justice articles. Anyway, if the Raptors trade Bosh to the Rockets, Rockets don't seem to have the pieces to get that done. Why would they do it during the offseason? I can think two good reasons why they wouldn't rush it. One, to sell tickets. Two, wait for a better offer.
After all of the negative articles, this is a nice article to read that gives fans hope for the future. Bosh in Houston does indeed sound great, though....
If Bosh can be had than great, but the Raptors want something in return. Bosh is due $14 mill next year. I doubt they would take tmac's contract because that means the Raptors have to include another player to make it work and it doesnt make sense to swap expiring contracts.
Would be a great move, much better than trying to get Amare in my opinion. Reason being...Bosh can create his own shot, is very versatile, and is still a long 6'10. Put him next to a scrappy power forwards like Scola, Landry, and Hayes, and his lack of "presence" around the basket won't be noticed as much, but that was exploited in Toronto when he was playing next to Bargnani and Nesterovic. He's also a decent shotblocker, doesn't have a long history with injuries, and he's only 25. We would also be able to play up tempo with him, and he fits RA's offense perfectly. You could say he's similar (not as good) to Cwebb, minus the passing. Hopefully this can happen, but we would have to sign him to an extension. Don't want a 1-year rental.
The team would be better with Bosh than it was with Yao. Yao is/was very dominant at times but for every game where you thought he had made the step forward to becoming an every night All Star he would give you two nights where you wondered how a 7'6" guy could only grab 5 rebounds in 40 minutes or how a man of Yao's size could be completely neutralized by a 6'9" nobody from the other team. I love Yao and think he is a great person and very good player but the fact remains that on a lot of nights this team prospered while he was on the bench and floundered while he was on the floor. A guy like Bosh won't command the double teams Yao did but he also won't be a liability against smaller, quicker teams and he won't disappear for entire halves of games. He will be a much more consistent player who his team mates can trust to give them basically the same performance every night.
Bosh is a better version of Jermaine O'Neal. He's a nice big, but he needs to be the second best player on the team if it's going to contend.
Im about at the point where Im willing to have a subpar year next year and go crazy in 2010 Free Agency. Keep our young guys in Landry, Lowry & Brooks (Scola, too, but many dont consider him "young"). Id like to keep Shane, but understand if you need to use him to get picks or younger players. Let Ron and Von walk. Is it a desireable scenario? Of course not. But It may be smarter. Let see what the wizard (Morey) can do with a clean slate.
