We still have a very scary post player in Luis Scola. With Yao injured, its time to give this team to Scola and let him go to work. I honestly believe that Scola has yet to unleash everything he has because Yao demanded so much while they were on the court together. Make Scola offensive option number 1 and he will start averaging 20 and 10 (roughly)

All we need to do is get a couple more Adelman type players (a center who can play on the perimeter) and let the young guys go to work. I have a lot of faith in Scola, Brooks, Landry and especially Adelman. We just need to convert our offense to 100% Adelman ball and continue playing defense.

Let me also add that Adelman is great at developing young talent, so hopefully our draft picks will come out better than expected.

Well, when Batman is out for possibly the rest of his professional career, you have to settle for Robin.

We need a center more than ever!!! Yao down. Now we have nobody in the middle. I guess we can use our 6'6'' power forward at the center position.

If this team lands a decent 7 footer (10 ppg/7 rpg in 30 minutes) and a swing man who can score efficiently is the team really any worse than the team that played the first 3 games against the Lakers in the playoffs?

scola got open shots because of yao. don't kid yourself.

scola in laker series is what you will get with yao gone.

also, no yao or tmac...nothing for rockets, team of hard working, role playing scrubs

This type of dumb ish really grinds my gears. You dont want to give Scola any credit? Fine, then TMac gets all the credit for getting yao ming all his points. When TMac was healthy and on the court with ming, the defense would worry more about TMac than ming. TMac got so many easy buckets for ming. With out TMac, ming cannot even avg 20ppg.

He is good, but there is no way he will get avg 20/10 as the No.1 team offensive option after Yao down. He is good, but not good enough to be it. If he gets double teamed, it is more likely he will get below 10/5 with a bucket of turnovers. Without Yao and Tmac, Rockets need to find another consistent superstar to be the No.1 option.

In the 4 games without Yao, Scola averaged 14/11 with 44% at 12 attempts per game.

Good, but better as a complement with Yao's production, not as the main contributor of the frontcourt. And the killer instinct so desperately sought for in Yao isn't seen in Scola either.
