thanks for clearning that up, makes sense now. i thought i would have had that down by now, i guess i havent played 2k9 enough
If anything, the luxury tax affects Wafer a lot more than Artest. I think we'll sign as long as it's not a ridiculous offer. In which case we can work our way back under the tax as has been mentioned. Also, I don't really think buying draft picks and going over the LT line is the same. Paying luxury tax is a HUGE deal. Not only do you have to pay double salary, but you also DON'T get money back from being under the tax. So in affect it's a double whammy. Also buying 2nd rounders is a one-time payment, whereas signing players to contracts affect our ability to make future signings and transactions, since they count towards the cap/tax.
This freakin gets me mad...ugh...SORRY fatas* brain cook..excerises his option and takes up some vaule able money..but again i dont blame him cuz of the economy...ugh!
Worzel: Wafer is a 1st class idiot for what he did, but there's no way you can definitively claim that he cost us a game with his attitude. Truth is, Von played horribly throughout that series. Him being off the court may have been better than him getting schooled while on it.
I don't mind if the Rockets have to pay a luxury tax. Add one more 30 second commercial to the telecast. I don't begrudge Brian Cook his money either.
Thanks! Exactly the info I was looking for. No excuse not to go over the tax this year imo. I never thought of it that way, it makes perfect sense
give him the mid level and nothing more. in this kind of market, that's all his gonna get for being slow and in decline. i think some of you are basically falling in love with ron the character and isn't really seeing what he brings to the team. i like his defense and toughness but him putting his head down and hogging the ball, taking too many shots for his own good isn't good for the team, and he isn't willing to settle with less shots. that will really hurt our team because he isn't willing to sacrifice his offense
