The link below is to what I use. It seems okay for a tiny fall. But, any fall could possibly break the glass depending on how the phone lands. I equate it to dropping a remote. I had a touch screen glass remote and dropped it many times. It never broke but, this one time, it had a tiny fall just the right way and the glass shattered. It was a well built remote.

Here is what I'm using per the iPhone: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TP409LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0NA&mco=NjE1NzY2OA .

The case fits nice and snug. It's a two piece (front/back side) that snaps together. I had some trouble apply the screen film that protects from scratches. I have some air bubbles I can't get rid of, some dings in the film (from re-applying the film so many times to try and get it just right), and some small fibers (which I can't seem to apply it without at least one or two fibers getting under it...creating the air bubble situation). I need to get a new package of films...and try re-applying a new film. I guess it's best if you apply the film the right way the first time...to a perfectly cleaned screen. I find that easier said than done. But, in the end, even if the film isn't perfectly on there...it is not noticable when the iPhone is in use. I would have liked for Apple to apply a film at the factory so it came with one. It kind of boggles my mind they didn't do this.

    Good luck.

Edit: Oh...by the way...I'm still waiting on my phone service to be activated. They told me 1 - 2 weeks. It's pretty unbelievable that my case is so special it takes that long to activate the phone...especially since I had a pre-existing account/phone with them. This will not soon be forgot. I should get some freebie thingie over this or something.

This is the case we use on our phones. I have black and my wife has red.

I've dropped my phone so many times I can't count them and my wife put her phone through the washer AND dryer and it still works after drying out.

Also use a screen cover to protect the screen and cut down on fingerprints.

I use bestskinsever on my 3G... and.... it, uh... works. :) I also have an Incipio cover on it. I've only dropped it once with no issues as a result.

The bottom one is the one I have, I really like it.

I also have a screen protector on, my cousin works for ATT so he actually applied it for me. they usually charge a couple of bucks to do it, but they have better equipment for it than you get in the box you buy. The type of protector I got also has a lifetime warranty so if it comes loose bubbles or scratches I can take it in and have it replaced for free. I cannot remember the brand though the box was black and orange.

I was going to use that before I bought the bestskinsever version which is way cheaper. They're both basically the same type of material I've got on the front of my car as a clear bra. I have no idea what magical properties the Invisible shield one has to cost so much more, so I went with the bestskinsever version. Does it protect the whole phone or just the front? The bestskinsever version is for the whole phone and costs about $7-$8 + shipping from what I recall. If it's applied the same way, be careful - it's easy to screw up, but if done right, it'll look fine. I've had my bestskinsever on my iPhone for a year now and have no problems with it.

So has anyone successfully jail broken the new 3.0 update? I've been waiting around on updating to the 3.0 for all the bugs to get knocked out.

I'm about to switch to AT&T and buy 2 Iphones (myself and wife). You think this deal is still good? Looks like I should go 3Gs from what I'm reading so far....

The deal isn't bad. You won't find a good subsidizing of cost with respect to apple. They've gone as low as they can. DO NOT TOUCH THE 3g. You will hate yourself if you knew you could get a 3gs and settled for a 3g. The sooner you buy, the sooner you can get your upgrade when the next iPhone comes out. Yes, it is a perpetual spending cycle, but until something finally comes and dismounts the iPhone from its perch, there's nothing you can do....

We NEED A HERO!! Oh save me HTC Hero. Our cries fall on deaf ears...

Not true... the 3G S isn't that much better than the 3G.... I owned the 3G for a whole year.. got it when it came out last year up until when the 3G S came out and then got that... it's not that much better... it's a little bit faster... compass is useless really... and the video camera is also pretty useless.... camera is a lot better though... but I mean you should go ahead and buy the 3G S since you're a new customer... it's not really worth upgrading though... I can't say I made a mistake in upgrading for the non-subsidized price though because I basically sold my old one for $500 and got the 3G S for free because of that money I used to buy it...

Honestly, I think the difference between the 3G and 3GS is marginal at best.

But then again, I'm happy with my jailbroken 2G, so I might not be the best person to ask.

Thanks (you too Pizza_Da_Hut). I guess I will go ahead and get us the 3GS (16 GB). Also, is this deal still valid?
