When the Grizzlies actually wins an NBA playoff game, we might start getting preoccupied by the Grizzlies.

This is a funny thread. Hey, what, why do you insist on calling Yao by his first name when you refer to everybody else by their last name? Do you know Yao personally?

Yeah and if we're talking about playoff history we also have two Championships and Hall of Fame players.

You want to talk about 2000-2010...Our resume is 15x better as the Grizz...in their entire history have one player who has made All-Star (Pau Gasol) and have never won A playoff game. Not one, you can't sit here and down talk the Rockets inability to not make it out the first round.

Their playoff series against the Mavs and Jazz were CLOSE series, 6 and 7 games...the Grizz get swept and you're on here down talking Yao talking about we've made it out the first round once.

Man I could see if you were a Jazz fan, at least they can say they've won more than one series this decade, you can't even say you've won a game in the playoffs.

Props though, tough being a Grizz fan.

The OP was pretty funny, now this Memphis fan = LOL. You should have pretended to be a fan of a more respectable franchise before coming in here with your smack. Sure, Houston like most teams have made management mistakes in the past, but NO ONE here is preoccupied or jealous of Memphis. You have the #2 pick this year, but the top prospects don't even want to work out for you. :(

I don't have a problem with a Memphis fan talking a little smack about the upcoming season or whatever. I like what they are doing right now, they did trade for Mayo and Mayo is a beast, I'm also high on Thabeet and the frountcourt of Thabeet and Gasol...well that's going to be hard for anyone to score on if Thabeet's defense translates.

BUT...talking about our inability to make it out of the first round?

I'm a Texan fan and I don't say "LOL, Titans can't win a playoff game!!" because well, our team has yet to even make the playoffs.

But don't worry, next season we'll have the upper hand :p

Yeah its insane isn't it? Reminds of the first transformers movie, where the small dude was talking smack to Megatron before he broke him in half.

"You want a piece of me? You want a piece of me?"

    "No, I wan two"

 Why don't you take a look at the mess that is your own franchise before you start talking smack to us? I'm not even sure the Grizz will stay in Memphis once their lease runs out, Heisley is losing tons of money...

Skimming this thread because the trade proposal was so hilarious, but what is just hilarious. I think even MemphisX no longer come to this board because he's too embarrassed to be known as a Grizzlies fan.

Seriously, while the Rockets haven't done much lately, at least it's a good organization all things considered. You don't see us trading Yao for Kwame Brown now, do you?

The best drafted picks the Rockets have had when it wasn't a clear pick (i.e. Elvin Hayes, Hakeem olajuwon, Ralph Sampson, Yao Ming) was Sam Cassell, Robert Horry and Calvin Murphy and Craig Ehol.

I mean you would think that your tea's scouting deptment would have at least, just one of those years recently have come up with a, Monte Ellis, a Boozer, a Tony Parker, somebody. But year after year you guys draft players that don't make it in the nba.

I can see why you guys trade your picks so much, because you guys have no confidence in your scouting dept.

Another thing, the only time you guys made a serious run for a championship, is when you guys had drafted well. Namely getting the great Calvin Murphy, then later Robert Horry and Sam Cassell, in back to back years. I'm excluding the Ralph and Hakeem year, because that was another lucky back to back drafts, though I do realize that the rockets might have gone to more finals had Sampson not have gotten hurt.

If you guys had not gotten the number 1 pick all of those years you guys would be one of the worst drafting teams EVER. I mean it is a tragedy looking at how badly you guys have drafted over the years.

I wonder if you guys would have even drafted Hakeem or Elvin had it not been for Guy V lewis.

I can't tell if this is a troll or not, but it's a hilarious one.

Drafting wise, I would point out that we grabbed Aaron Brooks, (who I would argue is something around the level of Ellis, especially given his superb playoff performance), and Carl Landry, which isn't bad for a second round pick in recent draft picks, and turned the bad pick of Donte Green into Ron Artest. Not to mention getting Luis Scola for pretty much nothing. And seriously, since when have the Grizzlies done any better, especially considering that you guys get high draft picks from sucking so badly while we don't?

But go ahead and rant on how such bad drafters we are - either way, we're relevant in this league and are at least dark horse contenders for a championship next year, while the Grizzlies even making the playoffs would be an absolute miracle.

Cuttino Mobley says hello...or do you still wonder about Michael Dickerson?

Mobley was always more balls than brains. Not a big fan of him. I wouldn't put him in the class with the others I mentioned. Dickerson was a very good pick though he got hurt.

With the type of players you all have had you yall should have won WAY more championships than what you have.

But I guess when you trade Elvin Hayes for Jack Marin, it is understandable.

Yes because it was so easy to win championships with Jordan around.

and who gives a damn about trades made 20 years ago? Obviously you are just trying to be a troll, but keep it up...it's hilarious that a Memphis fan is actually trying to rip on decisions made by other teams.

    And drafting?

    Uh...

    Big Country Reeves

    Abdur-Rahim over Kobe Bryant...bravo

And who could forget the home run you hit with Antonio Daniels with the 4th overall pick...over McGrady

You take Bibby over Vince Carter, Paul Pierce and Dirk...then trade him for Jason Williams and Nick Anderson.

Stromile Swift with the #2 pick in the draft. Yet another draft home run for the Grizz.

    Jamaal Tinsley over Tony Parker.

#4 pick on Drew Gooden. Forget that Amare was available or Nene.

Another great pick at #13 with Marcus Banks...a much better choice than Barbosa, Josh Howard or David West.

And that Hakim Warrick has turned out to be another beast of a player.

And Mike Conley with the 4 pick was another great move.

Yeah, your scouting department has done a helluva job. At least they have more than made up for it with great trades like one of the WORST trades in years getting rid of Gasol.

Well you know you Grizzlies are our little minor league team. Every time we need to make a splash you provide the pieces.

    1999 - Steve Francis
    2006 - Shane Battier
    2008 - Donte Green
    2009 - Kyle Lowry

Also who can forget the valuable services you provided the Kings and Lakers with Bibby and now Gasol.

Now fix up Mayo and Thabeet, Morey will be making the call in a couple of years from the big leagues.

Basically every good draft pick you've ever made has been traded for garbage.

All your players are belong to us!

I keep trying to tell people, the Clippers are dumb but they're not that dumb. Z-Bo is unrestricted in the golden year, 2010. Is it really that dumb that they want to take their chances on that free agent class rather than settle for Darko? Blake will get his minutes even if they aren't able to trade one of Kaman, Camby, or Zach and it's likely they will easily find someone to deal with for one of those guys.

    It's likely they will need a 2, 3 or a 5.

    Clippers possible 2010 roster:

    Baron Davis
    Eric Gordon
    Al Thornton
    Blake Griffin
    Chris Kaman

    Unrestricted 2's, 3's, and 5's of 2010:

    Perkins
    Pierce
    Radmanovic
    Salmons
    Dampier
    Dirk
    K-Mart
    JR Smith
    Tayshaun
    Azubuike
    Battier
    Troy Murphy
    Jeff Foster
    Redd
    Chandler
    Dalembert
    Kapono
    J-Rich
    Amare
    Pryzbilla
    Richard Jefferson
    Kirilenko
    Caron

The Clippers will either make the playoffs this season or get another solid lottery pick, it won't be hard to convince one of those guys to play in LA with the roster they have. Keep sleeping on the Clippers while you can, they won't be a laughing stock for much longer.
