i wasnt able to watch the brazil/s. africa game because i was at work. did s. africa's defense stifle brazil, or was it more a case of brazil not showing up and competing?
It was a very physical game. Bafana's midfield really pushed their game at Brasil. The scoring chances they had came from corners and shots outside the box. Brasil didn't seem comfortable at all. Their only goal came on a free kick from just outside the box. If the United States plays Brasil just as tough as South Africa, I like their chances.
It's between this and the 2002 quarterfinal against Germany. I got to Fado's in Austin at 4 am to get a good seat. The place was jammed packed. Everyone went nuts about the hand ball that wasn't (Intent has nothing to do with it other than determining if it should be a card. Advantage is why you call it.) Either way, it's going to be fun...win or lose.
I'm sitting here infront of my tv, on my leather lazy boy with a beer in my left hand and remote in the right. can't wait! USA!!!
Ya, those things are annoying. But Let's do this!!!!! Astros and USA in HD 1 channel apart. I'll but the Stros on my 22nch and USA on the big one. U S A!!!!!
Not since we played Mexico in 2002 have I been this pumped for a US National team game, fingers crossed we are at least in the match somewhat...
As far as predictions, I am going to have to say that my rational side says we will lose 3-1 Brazil or something like that. However, Im hoping that we win and if we did, it'd be a score of 3-2 US (I dont think we can hold them to just one goal at any rate) I hope im wrong, and we dominate!
