Ric Bucher: Heard Dal and Hou also called. Cle is not in mix. KG is calling, but Sheed won't do Boston. http://twitter.com/RicBucher I like this move a lot. If we could get him for the MLE, he'll fill-up a lot of our frontcourt holes -> length, outside shooting, back-up C and low-post defense. Nice to hear Morey's interested as well.
David Aldridge said Rasheed is only going to pick between the Magic and Spurs... I doubt Sheed will go to the unhealthy Rockets team.
and he'd be the best weak side shot blocker on our team we've had in a while. he can spread the floor and post up when yao is out. he's also an underrated passer and his teammates like him. his only issue is motivation, and he has to have a coach with authority. there was no way he was going to listen to michael curry or flip saunders, but he will heed RA the way he did larry brown. 2 or 3 years MLE would be a great deal.
he wouldnt come to us just for that I think he would still want to start scola would have to be 6th man
The guy that stole money from Chicago and ran? No thanks. He hasnt been all that great since leaving Detroit.
The front court would be crowded, someone would have to be moved or there would have to be a lot of juggling by Adelman. If Sheed gets big minutes at backup center, this could work. Sheed did say he wouldn't play for the MLE. I think he wants 8M minimum, so its a long shot that this deal is done.
This would be brilliant if we had something lined up to trade T-Mac/Landry/Brooks/whatever for backcourt help.
Sheed would be perfect for the Rox: 1) He doesnt demand too many shots; unselfish 2) Good defender/tough 3) Good 3 pt shooter/high basketball IQ 4) Can play center This would top the additions of the Spurs' RJ and Cleveland's Shaq
Maybe someone already mentioned this (I haven't had my morning coffee yet and so might have missed it), but wasn't Adelman the coach of Mr Ticking Time Bomb Rasheed Wallace back in the Portland days? Tmac's contract would come in handy to get him and maybe even Rip Hamilton. Of course, we don't have the purer point guard that Rip might need to set up shots, but just throwing things out there. Okay, off for that coffee now.
Rasheed Wallace was part of one of the biggest playoff colapses EVER in POR against the Lakers, I think Por was leading by 28? He was also a part one of the dynamic teams I have ever seen with the 04 champion Pistons, which was more recent. You have to gamble, take the bad with the good. I´m down for this move if executed.
I thought I heard somewhere that Shed said he would retire than play for LESS than 8 MIL a year. I think he would be a good backup center. He is no longer a starter in the NBA imo after his dreadful playoff performance.
