Dude we should trade Yao. Even tough I love him, it would be better for the franchise.

    What's the point? Really?

I have an idea.....how about Dick Justice, Dick Lord (610) and The "Voice" of the Texans Mike Vandernoodle stop writing and talking about basketball already....it's painful

Man the season is over according to this dribble. Besides this was first diagnose from the number 1 medical staff the Rockets have, wasn't this Doctor suppose to have retired from the team? I hope the Rockets get a better medical staff for this upcoming season. Yao will be ready eventually.

How could the Rockets trade him? His history of injuries is exactly why Morey's hands are tied and the Rockets will simply have to endure Yao for the length of his contract. There really is very little possibility that any team would trade for him so really this isn't something that should rate much discussion, IMO.

The Rockets having 2 high profile stars with the injury pedigrees as these 2 players is what will ultimately hamper the team's efforts for at least the time their contracts expire as I really don't see many teams beating the doors down to get them, even with TMAC's expiring (which may ultimately be best for Houston to keep themselves). At least we have a GM that can make a series of brilliant little moves to mitigate this and keep a competitive team on the court.

Typical drivel from the Chronicle's worst sport's columnist.

The truth is simple, that Yao's brittleness make it impossible to build a championship around him, yet Les will still want to re-sign him in order to attract Chinese sponsors, so Morey's task is to build a championship roster with approximately 15-20% less salary than other NBA teams.

Of course, you could make the argument that the extra revenue allows Les to buy 2nd round picks, but I'd rather have the money on the front end and not the back.

    Simple as that, really.

Richard makes money coming up with BS all the time. I really wish we had a better newspaper in Houston.

The only good thing about Rich is that he gets a lot of inside info. I don't know how he does it but he does.

Justice is a pretty good writer, but I do think he's in the wrong genre. He exaggerates every story, and it would be best if he wasn't a journalist. Fiction is more fitting for him, or even nonfiction, as a matter of fact...

    Hmmm...

I re-read the article several times and I don't see a problem with what he's saying...

Yao reminds me a lot of Bill Walton (injury wise) and he's only stating what's been discussed on this board already. The fact is that Yao has been injured every year he's been and foot probs for a Big Man is not good.

The reality is that the Rockets have to think about life without Yao, I think the biggest mistake that Yao made was not signing the Max contract when he had the chance. Now Morey and Les have to look at his health probs along with his age and his injury history to see if he's really worth a max contract.

So there is no guarantee that Yao will be in a Rockets uniform.

Trading Yao will never happen because Les makes too much money from Yao's fame so even if Yao rides the bench the WHOLE season he still makes money.

You never give away your cash cow, NEVER EVER!!!

    There's a difference between
    ---not healing at at all
    ---not completely healed
---and not as healed as it should it be.

I remember taking a test once and I knew every answer on that test but I got a 98% instead of a 100%. I guess it would be safe to say that I didn't do as well as I should have.....but I WAS AT 98%!!

    Ya dig, Shanghai? ;)
