basically the trades were Shaq, Carter, Jefferson, Crawford for Wallace, Pavlovic, second rounder, Lee, Alston, Battie, Oberto, Bowen, Thomas, Law, Claxton
San Antonio, Orlando, and Atlanta......yup, those are all bastions of NBA popularity right there. Gimme a break.....the only thing the NBA is suffering from is bad owners and GMs.
Ron Artest for Bobby Jackson Tracy McGrady for Steve Francis Luis Scola for Vassilis Spanoulis Geez, I think you're on to something. The NBA is rigged...
If you treat trades in the NBA as you do trades in NBA 2k9, then yes, it's rigged, but if you deal in real world economics, you're wrong.
I share your frustration, but the simple fact is that none of the players are worth the money they are getting. Crawford still allows more points than he scores, and has never won anything. The Magic are hemorrhaging money right now--they'll regret trading for an aging, mentally soft, physically brittle stat padder. Shaq was a desperation move on the part of Cleveland and isn't what they need.
Just a quick question : When does the trade deadline actually finish? Can teams still trade tomorrow as well?
The only trade I do think was influenced (not rigged, but the NBA approved it still) heavily was the Pau Gasol trade. That was pretty ridiculous and I think if you look at the history of it. Kobe wanted out of LA (remember his trade demands and radio shows?), and the league needed him to stay in LA to help keep the Lakers relevant (too big a market to lose) and I do believe they should not have let that trade happen. However, if you owned the NBA, wouldn't you want to make the most money and keep big names in big markets? Just think about it from that point of view. SO, go watch euroball if you hate the NBA. Bleeding RED since 1980
Quick correction... I don't think that was the only trade of all time that was influenced, I meant one of the most recent trades. Err. Bleeding RED since 1980
