Well now that we have a moderator for this forum(thanks Manny) I want to get some opinions from you guys on things we have access to. I use the word we because I don't really plan on doing much with this status except kepping things cleaned up and looking out for the integrity of the sims. Keping an eye on some of the other forums I was thinking that the sticky item could come in handy. I want opinions on what we should sticky or if we should sticky anything. Keep in mind the stick feature is helpful in kepping important threads at the top of the page but if we stick too much it gets extremely cluttered. I was thinking of creating a thread with all the website links on one page and then sticking it. Would this be beneficial to anyone besides me? I know i access the bbs from places at work that do not have my bookmarks stored and I end up having to look up each site. Let me kow what you guys want.

    CK

edit: I made the poll multiple choice so please choose one of the top three you like best and if you want a thread for websites choose the bottom one too.

Having the line-up/roster thread as a sticky is a GREAT idea!

That saves us from having to search for it from time to time and do a meaningless "bump" post.

Also, a thread with the websites would be a good idea as well.

Why do you guys need so many threads for one league? A transaction thread, a line up thread, a trade discussion thread. Why not do it all in one thread?

And all these type of threads: "Attention Castor" or whoever. Either email the person you want to contact or post in an existing thread.

It makes the league less organized.

Definitely lose the "Attn: Insert Name Here" threads. All you guys in these leagues should have each others email addresses...use them.

Also, I agree with Finn that having 10 threads for one league is overwhelming to the other leagues that use the forum. I'm only involved in the annual BobFinn Fantasy Basketball League(and current champ I might add :D ) and we manage just fine with one thread. The sim leagues may be more intricate, but I don't think there needs to be a new thread every single week. It's really overkill guys.

Speaking of new threads, next year Finn, we should start a new thread because it was a pain having to go back through the posts trying to find a particular "time" of the year. A new thread for each season should be sufficient for any league IMO.

As to the first part. It is easier to keep track of things when they are seperated into different threads. In the lineup thread most people create one post then edit it to change their lineup. These are the ones that tend to get moved down and then bumped. I am leaning heavily towards just sticking them to the top because the trade and transaction threads are usually easy to spot. As for transactions those are mainly so the league commish can see what is going on. Unfortunately in the sims we don't have the power to process our own transactions. Whoever is running the league has to do that and if you bury those in a thread with lineups and trade discussion most will be missed and not get completed.

As for the second part. I agree those threads are annoying. Your idea about email or a simple "come to chat" post in the trade thread should suffice in that situation. That may be something l look at and use the merge or delete option to clear some of that clutter.

On a side note. If you guys that do the fantasy leagues have something you want stuck let me know and I'll see what i can do.

Pimp, we had 2 seperate threads. The first year had one and we started a new one for last year's season.

My bad Bob. I could have sworn we used the same thread as the year before. I guess it was just that massive.

This year I suggest a thread for the draft and then one for the season.
