Wow, I can't believe it . Celebrities passing away generally doesn't affect me but this definitely has. Arguably the greatest pop star ever (and one of my all time favorites, especially when I was growing up). Rest in peace.

I don't think its any different from any other breaking news story. People are going to talk about current events. Of course you won't hear people talk about John Smith from Paris, Texas that passed away because not everyone knows him. Many people know MJ through his music. Music is very powerful.

 

Watching CNN right now, there is a circus forming outside UCLA Medical.

He invented the modern video. His Music. His Videos. He made everyone in the industry have to step up their game.

He is a major influence and a cultural Icon.

This is by far the most any celebrity's death has ever touched me.

a truly sad sad day for MJ, His family and his fans. . . I always was and always will be a fan.

 

It really sucks, but I am relieved the sad current chapter of his life is going to close. Thriller, IMO, is right there with the greatest pop albums ever done. Hopefully he's remember for the positives he gave.

I grew up with him and have so many memories of jamming his music with my friends and loved ones. A toast: to the undisputed GOAT

this sux. i love MJ. my uncle and i used to watch Moonwalker over and over.

 

Weren't the deaths of McMahon and Fawcett kind of expected though? Both of them had terminal cancer, and McMahon was already quite old. I thought the 3's saying applied to unexpected deaths like MJ today.

 

He was an icon across the world, probably the biggest music star of all time. RIP....most sources now say he's dead.
