    That's my hunch too, which I've mentioned somewhere before.

    First, a report that both parties deny an Amare/Tmac trade was ever discussed.

    Next, rumors arise that an Amare/Biedrins trade is in the works.

    Then several rumors that the Rockets are working on a trade for a #2 pick or in that ballpark.

    What? The Lakers got Pau Gasol, an all star and more importantly, a big man for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, and a second round pick I believe.

    We are trying to get the #2 pick and O.J. Mayo or Rudy Gay for Carl Landry, Aaron Brooks/Shane Battier.

    We are actually giving up young talent and while highly unlikely, that is hardly a trade out of the realm of possibility considering their past trades. People are certainly not crazy for thinking we could do this deal with Memphis.

    It was a first round pick, but may as well have been round 2 as it was like 29.

    With that said, the Grizzlies are way too high on Mayo to trade him. It's just not gonna happen.

    What REALLY boggles my mind is how people seem to think McGrady and Brooks is enough to snag both Mayo and the number two pick. That's just absurd that people could even think that possible.

    The point is that if this was Portland, San Antonio, or say Indiana, then yeah, it'd be absurd. We are talking about Memphis.

    Have we figured out the logic behind that Gasol trade yet?

    That's why my post says that the Rockets are eventually going after the 2nd, not the 4th, pick. They will get the 4th solely to flip it to Memphis (along with a sweetner) for the 2nd.

    SAC is the one team among the ones with high lotto picks who appear to value Brooks the most. And I think a high lotto pick plus sweetner is what Chris Wallace needs in a Rubio trade in order to avoid embarassment.

    I know, I'm saying though say you get the 4th pick, there is no guarentee Memphis will trade with you. But who knows, maybe you'd be right!
