I want to start my own little music company. I got a logo and a name and everything and even got one DJ wanting to join. Anyone have any suggestions for me on how to go on the right path to legalize, market, and do other stuff that a business need to do in order to suceed? wow...this is going to sound amazingly self-serving...but go see a lawyer!!! as an small business owner once told me upon a visit to my office at the outset of his new adventure, "i figure i can pay you now to help me get it right...or pay you more later when you have to clean up what's wrong!"
I am not sure about where you are from, but most communities have a "small business Administration" or something like that which helps people like you incorporate, write business plans, get loans etc. I have a small business, abd used them extensively FIRST. determine what type of company. corporation, and LLC are likely more than you want right now. start a simple partnership, or a sole proprietorship, and register it if you have partners in any way a LAWYER is key. you may be friends, but business is business. get a tax ID # once you have a tax ID # you can open a bank account and do alot of things if you plan on doing promotions, get some talent, offer them a share of the $$$ get a venue, and get security. advertize and throw your event. also include you name in the event. you will eventually develope a clientelle. you may loose money at first, but if you are doing club or warehouse events the profits can end up quite large. if you start a label and produce a cd mix you can sell it at venues yada yada yada. if you didnt know anything i Just typed, i would say you have a LONG way to go good luck

Huh? If your talking about do I just want to have a "NdN" music brand, no. I want to expand to an NdN line of clothing, NdNWeaR, and other stuff. I think NdN is a good name for stuff. I derived it from my nationality, "Indian".
And, if you mean am I just going to be indian music, no. I have 1 R&B Female group wanting in, 2 Female R&B solo acts, and 1 DJ. BTW, I scrapped together a little something for my site. idian music is crazy!! bgm's old roommate was from saudi arabia and one night we jammed to his indian music. man, i am serious some of that music is hella cool!
