Saw this movie with my better half last weekend. Anyone else seen it? First half of the movie was just hilarious. Last half lost it's way a bit in the unravelling of a family drama... but still worth the price of matinee admission!

I think this movie might be good, I would see almost anything with Ashley Judd in it.

Everytime I hear the commercial and it says "Ya! Ya!" I start laughing. Don't know why...

Oooohhhh...I'm scared of this movie. I've never liked the oh-so-poignant, mother/daughter, let's-just-be-girls movies. I watched "Fried Green Tomatoes" on a cruise ship and to this day I'm not sure if it was the choppy seas or the sappy story that made me sick to my stomach.

The only thing that gives it any credibility in my book is the director, Callie Khouri. She directed "Thelma and Louise" which kicked ass. But I doubt the Ya-Ya's drive off a cliff at the end, so no dice. :D

Ridley Scott directed Thelma and Louise.

    Khouri was the writer though.

Too bad he didn't get a few of his aliens to swoop down and eat them ten minutes into it. It would have made the remaining 80 more tolerable.

Thelma and Louise: You gotta love movies that portray men as abusers, rapists, philanderers, and thieves and, in the end, the women heroes kill themselves anyway.

FGT was meant to be about a lesbian relationship, right? But they avoided *that* insinuation like the plague... just like that scene they changed in the movie of The Color Purple where they're *meant* to be looking at the glories of each other's, um, genital areas, but they changed it to a discussion of the heroine's 'beautiful smile'...

TaL had some 'good guys'. Harvey Keitel's character. And Louise's boyfriend, whatever his name was.
