I turned on Sports 610 this morning and there was a caller named Larry who was screaming and bitc**** about how Yao is damaged good and relate Yao to Chinese products that are bad. How racist is this guy?! I didn't listen to what the host had to say, but still, what is the problem with him? Not educated enough to give constructive criticisms? And what is up with the screaming? I guess he thinks that he's entertaining the audience. He said he would prefer McGrady, who at least could give 13 points in 3 seconds over Yao. I know what he was referencing to, but that was only one time, in a regular season game, and this man thinks McGrady is still the same McGrady of a few years back. If you are that Larry guy reading this, you are so annoying.
I think you might be a little too sensitive on this one. I don't support racism and I didn't hear the phone call (can only go on what you posted), but Yao's constant leg injuries are frustrating and unfortunately becoming a pattern and there have been some recalls of chinese products that have been deadly in the last year or so... I don't think that it was really a "racist" statement. Now was it a classy thing to say (images of Ron Burgandy dancing in my head)? No. Racist? Not sure. Bad comparison? Probably
i've heard him on the radio before. he's not funny nor are his opinions worth a damn i don't know why 610 puts him on the air so much. did not hear about this morning's call but i can imagine how stupid it was.
OP, *most* people that call into radio stations are idiots. Mike in Dairy Ashford is practically the biggest one. I listen to my radios station for the hosts, some of their guests, and occasionally- Gilbert. That being said, there are some good callers and worthy takes (I think I've called like 3 times in my lifetime).
No, I've gotta disagree. Dave from the Northside is BY FAR the worst. He turns asking a simple question like "Should the Rockets re-sign Ron Artest?" into a 95 second ordeal that makes you want to punch babies by the time he's finished. I would love it if guys like Adam Clanton, Matt Jackson, Charlie Palilo and Adam Wexler stopped taking calls and just did monologues.
